Jade Seahorse Hotel - Utila, Honduras

We visited the gardens yesterday. A very obvious sign at the entrance states 50 lempira to view - totally worth it! What an amazing place! We wanted to stay longer but we were dying of thirst and the bar was closed due to renovations. Had a lovely long chat with the artist-owner. Highly recommend.

The little huts are so cute and with so much love to detail. Has everything you need. Also lovely and friendly family owning the place. Definitely recommend staying :)

We didn’t stay the night but we visited the museum while passing through town. It’s just cool. It’s worth the $2 entry fee to walk around. No one else was there when we went (Monday afternoon) and we even bought t-shirts for $8 each. It’s just cool. Stop in if you’re close.

11/10 recommend! Amazing place to stay, very comfortable, beautiful yard and the sweetest people owning and running it. I’ll stay here next time for sure!

The cabins here are very unique! Plenty of room, interesting architecture, and very whimsical. We recommend this place to people who appreciate a different, unique place to stay. The lighting inside and outside is mainly to highlight different areas versus being placed for utilitarian reasons alone. Step out of the norm and into a unique habitation.

Incredibly beautiful! The hand made structures surrounding the cabins are out of this world. The owner and artist Neil really poured his loved and dedication on this place.

If you go to Utila you need to visit this place. It's amazing the amount of work and imagination put into the art here. It looks a little run down, but still is definitely wort the 25Lps per person to visit.

Stayed there twice. It was a great place to start and end our Island getaway. The staff were great, let us leave our large bags there until we came back. The cabins were very comfortable, aircon and large shower. The gardens were very beautiful. It was only a short walk into the main street. I would recommend Jade Seahorse anytime.

Such an amazing and magical place. You don't have to stay in order to visit the place, you can just go in and take a look. You'll have to pay 20 lempiras, but once you see the place, you won't feel bad about it. It is sad that they don't have the restaurant or the bar anymore, and be aware of the spiders... look up! But even the spiders were part of the magic. You have to see it with your own eyes!

A beautiful hotel/retreat. It is just a 5 minute walk from the beach. The grounds are almost completely covered in mosaics, and manage to simultaneously be peaceful, beautiful, and visually interesting. Although, many dive shops do offer deals which bundle lodging with lessons, this place is well worth it!

We saw many similar places around world. Art based on recycled materials, but Jade Seahorse is the most extraordinary of the all. Huge amount of fantasy, creativity, artistic vision and manual labor is seen from gate through every step in middle sized park. The feeling is of the place not built to bring tourists, but to create dream of the artist for himself and others are welcomed guests in this Wonderland.
Park is in shade of huge trees, making the place pleasant even in noon Utila's heat.
To visit this remote island and not to see this extraordinary creation ? Don't do that to yourself.

Intriguing, Wonderland-like found-item artwork installation featuring mostly glass. Beautifully colorful and bizarre! Makes you wonder where Johnny Depp (the Mad Hatter), the Caterpillar, and the Cheshire Cat are!

Once you enter through the gate, you do not remember the rest of the island. I uploaded sone pictures and a video to give a sense of the place. Stayed only two nights for a weekend getaway between two weeks of a medical mission trip, and could have easily stayed longer. Large room, reliable air conditioning, treated drinking water beside the bed, little fridge, clean and functional washroom. Lots of places outside to sit and read, contemplate, check out the decor, or whatever. Super friendly host/owner, who was already in the kitchen when I woke at 4AM one morning, and offered me a large mug of steaming coffee. (I might have been bleary-eyed, but I had not been drinking 😀.) Mind-blowing decorations, accumulated over years of effort, and assembled into a kaleidoscope of colours and shapes which could easily overwhelm the senses, but somehow work here. Did not stay here but stopped in to look at the art. It was STUNNING to say the least. If you go to Utila it is a must see.

First visit to utila and found this place while exploring the island and could not believe the creativity and time it must of took to lay this place out. Simply a magical little place

Amazing art pieces and you must try the restaurant because it's one of the best on the Island!

Loved it! Reminded me of the mosaic at Guell Parc in Barcelona.
