The Lighthouse Hotel

We came to Útila to attend dive school at Alton’s and Thelma kindly allowed us to stay here for a week after our other lodgings fell through. I wish it could have been longer! Absolutely perfect location - very quiet, safe, & peaceful, but close enough to shops and dining to be convenient. Sunrise & sunset you look out over the bay for some of the loveliest moments... picture-perfect, postcard material! Thelma is an absolute gem, she made us feel welcomed and well looked-after. She is a tremendous resource, and can help you find just about anything you’re looking for on the island. The rooms are spotless, and cleaned every day, and have a full fridge & freezer, microwave, coffee pot, dishes, etc. My favorite spot was lounging in the handmade hammock on the breezy deck…

The rooms are sparkling clean and very comfortable, the owners and specialty, Thelma are so kind and helpful. She answered every question patiently and supplied lots of info on the island.
It is located on the Main Street yet at the end so you are close to everything but away from the hustle and bustle of the street noise.
If I could I would have stayed forever.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few days and wish it could have been longer. Absolutely wonderful location - quiet but close enough to shops and the main strip. Could look out over the bay from our hammocks every evening on the dock. Thelma and family made us feel welcomed and at home. Highly recommend & will be back.

An incredible place for a quiet and peaceful stay in Utila. The owners really care about the place and its guests. Very clean rooms, well equipped and the best attention. If you can get one of the rooms at the ends of the dock house, you'll enjoy some of the best views. I'm a city/mountain person, not a big fan of beaches and islands, but it's the first time I thought "I could live here". It was that good!

I’ve stayed here a couple of times now. I recommend getting one of the corner rooms facing the ocean. Clean, warm water, can flush toilets (unlike almost everywhere else), quiet area, clean room, and close to everything. The people who own and operate the hotel are fantastic.

The ideal place to stay in order to enjoy this island. You're within walking distance of the town center, yet far enough from the madding crowd to sit on the wrap around veranda and relax and absorb the spectacular views without being disturbed by the noise of late night revelers.
The rooms are modest BUT spotlessly clean and comfortable. They have aircon which is a lifesaver here, and the bathrooms have hot water.

Immaculate presentation, a labour of love. Clean, quiet, no road noise. Great harbour vista. Close to Alton's Dive Centre, and AJ's Restaurant. A few minor house rules for the consideration of others. Just Great!

This has become our regular place to stay when in Utila. We have tried other places but all fall short of the lighthouse. The lighthouse is quiet and peaceful yet has all the conveniences of being downtown and is located within walking distance of virtually everything you need. Don't risk another place, just stay here.

Awesome hotel, with the most amazing view, and it is the cleanest place on the island. It is a nice quiet place and the sunrise and sunset are out of this world.

Great hosts, very clean and peaceful place. I've stayed in other places in Utila and this is my favorite by far. Other places are next to the parties and sleeping once you get back is not as easy.

Superb place, quiet and clean, comfortablybeds and bathroom,only thing is missing- hairdryer. breathtaking view from all sides , free wife, wonderful service, the host are very nice and attentive lovely family , highly recommended .

Très propre. Grande chambre. Coin cuisine avec tout ce qu'il faut (vaisselle, frigo, cafetière, micro onde). Très belle vue si vous êtes côté Océan. Vraiment un emplacement de rêve ! Excellent rapport qualité /prix.

La ubicación es excelente. La atención al 100%. La encargada del hotel es muy amable y te reciben como que fuera tu casa. La habitación muy lindas y limpias. Tienen servicio de cable, wifi y a/C. No incluye desayuno. Económico.

Excelente servicio, no hay bulla por lo que se puede descansar muy bien, con planta eléctrica por si se va la luz en la isla, muy fresco por la brisa, habitaciones muy limpias e impecables, 100% recomendable. Y esta opinión la reitero cada vez que vuelvo. Los anfitriones son unas personas muy amables, el personal de limpieza educado y servicial, ideal para pasar un momento muy tranquilo.

Este hotel tiene una vista espectacular de la Bahía de Utila, uno de los mejores lugares para disfrutar los bellos atardeceres. Habitaciones muy bonitas, a.buente acogedor y mucha privacidad.
