Utila Water Sports

GREAT experience diving with Utila Water Sports. They take no more than 8 divers on their nice large boat. Well, we were the only two diving during the 2 weeks of our stay. Divemaster Jose and Captain Chuck looked after us like family. Very professional, very competent, very flexible and so so nice. Also very inexpensive compared to prices on other Caribbean islands we've dived on. Owners Troy and Edith were charming and welcoming. Troy is a wonderful story teller! :) :) Highly recommended!!

Me and my boyfriend went and 'interviewed' about 7 different shops and this one we both felt most comfortable. Everyone at the front desk is always super happy and super helpful! You get free kayaks and SUP boards to use while staying there, you can also jump on the boat to go snorkelling whenever they go out. Super awesome dive shop and it's locally owned and operated!
We had Delaney for our open water and it was only the two of us with her, some of the other shops have 6-8 students per instructor so I found that very helpful. Our advanced we had Dan, both super awesome instructors to learn from! Wagner the boat captain is also a hoot.
The accommodation is cleaned once a day, and we had a kind of private area in the dorm. Comes with fridge and microwave, there is a BBQ you can use as well. Hot water and good working wifi. It wasn't as social as some of the other shops but that's what we wanted, you have a great sleep every night and if you want to go out there's places close by to go mingle.

By far the best stay in our three month trip through Central America. My girlfriend and I stayed for 7 nights or so in the semi-private dorm room, very clean facilities with free aircon and great hot water pressure - essentials after a long day of diving. We were offered incredible rates on our Advanced course and various speciality certifications we wanted to get. The dive boat is a great size, with plenty of undercover space to move around (unlike other open top boats we saw on the water) and our captain, Kerry, was such a lovable character. The dive gear was all near new it seemed and all gear was included in the price, with a range of shirt and long wetsuits to be borrowed for free as well. The two girls at the front desk, Alex and Bryanna, were incredibly helpful and friendly, even going so far as to cooking us a traditional meal one night and showing us around. We had so much fun with them we didn't want to leave at the end of our stay! Christy was our dive instructor, easily the best we've ever dived with. She freelances on the island and goes above and beyond with her exciting, bubbly and reassuring approach to diving and life. Everyone at this dive shop and hostel were some of the most accommodating people we've met, with fantastic rates on both SSI and PADI dive programs. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

My favourite dive center at the island. Friendly staff, good gear, awesome accommodation, free water, free kayak, free snorkel & mask, fresh linen and towels. What you want more? Big hugs to all the staff!

Very helpful group of young ladies who run Utilia water sports. The rooms are very clean hot water strong Wi-Fi in and close to everything you would need on this island. They also have A ladder that enters the water right behind your hotel so you can swim at your leisure. It was a amazing 3 days here.

Nuestro instructor para el curso Open Water, José M., fue excepcional en todos los sentidos: demostró paciencia sobresaliente y tenía una personalidad fantástica. Si estás en busca de un lugar que ofrezca un servicio personalizado y de alta calidad, definitivamente te recomiendo unirte a José M. en Utila Water Sports. Mi experiencia con ellos fue una de las mejores, y no puedo dejar de mencionar la calidad de su equipo e instalaciones, que es realmente destacable. Además, quiero agradecer sinceramente a Chuck, nuestro amable capitán, por hacer que nuestras salidas sean tan agradables. J'ai eu la chance de passer mon EFR et mon Rescue diver avec José mon instructeur et une autre. J'ai passé 3 jours exceptionnels, tout c'est très bien passé dans la joie et la bonne humeur. José est une personne GÉNIALE ! Professionnel, sérieux, patient, drôle, vous ne pourrez qu'être détendu. Nous avons effectués plusieurs plongées et à chaque fois dans des sites différents et le récif est magnifique. Il est important de savoir qu'il y a beaucoup plus de récif que de poissons, mais ça vaut la peine de plonger à Utila.
C'est un très bon rapport qualité prix car il y avait un pack pour EFR + RESCUE. La différence avec les autres centres où j'ai pu me renseigner est que c'est plus personnalisé, moins de monde et José à donc le temps d'expliquer 10 fois si nécessaire.
Je remercie toute l'équipe pour son professionnalisme, merci pour la chambre privée qui m'a été donnée lors de mon séjour et les rires avec Humberto le plongeur fou🤣. Je suis une sauveteuse heureuse !
