During our recent visit to the Maritime Museum in Split, we were fortunate enough to experience unparalleled hospitality, thanks to the exceptional kindness of Petra. Petra graciously took the time to show our group of teachers around the museum, enhancing our visit with her expertise and passion for maritime history.
Petra's dedication and warmth truly exemplify the welcoming spirit of the Maritime Museum. Her willingness to go above and beyond to ensure our visit was memorable is commendable and greatly appreciated.
We were thoroughly impressed by the museum's extensive collection, which offers a fascinating glimpse into Croatia's rich maritime heritage. The exhibits were thoughtfully curated and provided valuable insights into the region's seafaring traditions.
We are always seeking opportunities for collaboration and furthering educational initiatives. We eagerly anticipate the possibility of future collaborations with the Maritime Museum, building upon the foundation of excellence that Petra exemplifies.

Thank you once again to Petra and the entire team at the Maritime Museum for a wonderful experience. We look forward to returning soon.

Nice little museum in an old beautiful fortress. Very reasonable price, lot to see and very nice VR diving too, totally liked the place.

Some weaponry also outside + half of the old steam ship integrated to garrison wall, neat idea. You can also take nice pics from the city, as the fortress is on top of an quite high hill.

It was amazing to find out about maritime history and achievements of Croatian shipmaking and inventions.

Very extensive collection of items on merchant and military maritime history of Croatia. Especially interesting was the room about torpedoes. These were invented and originally built in Croatia. Learned some new history. Unfortunately, many of the displays look like they haven't been touched up in years. So some rooms feel very dated. Nevertheless, this museum is a must for anyone who likes maritime history.

Great outside exhibit as well as inside. My kid is a ship entusiast and loves to come here regularly

Fantastic maritime museum. Certainly worth the visit. VR Headset shipwreck activity brought the innovation and the torpedo focus brought the uniqueness.

Brilliant little place, full of interesting stuff, you must try the 3D experience that alone makes it the best place ever, you can literally dive down to a ship/plane wreck and float alongside..

What a find, great content, uncluttered and simple - very interesting content for both maritime and army - we enjoy it as a break from the old town and nearby coffee looks good also.

So many fascinating items on exhibit! Ancient amphora, historical naval uniforms, maps, knot displays, and so much more. The VR experience exploring sunken ships is awesome! There's also an interactive screen describing progressive changes to the coastline over the millenia, different sea battles over the ages, and more. There are actual boats to see outside, too, including part of a ship, all with historical significance. I thought we'd be at the museum for maybe an hour. We stayed all afternoon and still didn't spend enough time to do the collection justice. Highly recommend!

A fairly priced museum that provides visitors with detailed displays of both Croatian military and commercial maritime activities.

Incredible experience. Torpedoes history is fascinating, and VR diving was really fun. The full tour can take from 1h to 3h depending on your speed and interest, I really recommand the tour which is a great learning experience and also very cheap

The entrance fee is only 20 kunas for adults which is very cheap. In my opinion it should be much more because the museum is amazing. So much to see, we were there for over an hour. Amazing maritime antiques and history. Also a lot of guns and artillery. I did not think there would be so much stuff, well worth the visit. The building inside is new, and the washrooms are very luxurious.

Small but interesting, placed in ex fortress of Split built in 17th century.
The silence about WW2 in the museum speaks for itself so loudly...

This is a little gem of a museum. Lots of weapons and bits of boats to see as well as some amazing models. We enjoyed it here. The guy on the reception desk needs to work on his personality though. He made feel about as welcome as a piranha in a diving helmet.

Great museum with a great collection of ship parts from the past and a nice exhibition of knots. We really enjoyed our visit, and Petra at the reception was very lovely and informative.

It was even more interesting than we'd expected, especially the torpedos and the handful of detailed ship models! There's free parking outside, and in the outside area of the museum there are ships, and guns on display
