This had everything: excellent food, fun truffle hunting with adorable dog, history, lovely hosts, AMAZING views. Bring extra cash to buy products afterwards because you will love everything and prices are lower here at the producer.

We went in late October and had the place all to ourselves. We picked Prodan out of the many who offer tours in the area because they described their food online--and we care about the food--and they are hunting on their own farm. This is a 3rd generation truffle family. Very nice to hear the family history and the town history. We did not know at the time but the farm was also featured on National Geographic.

We had an mazing experience truffle hunting with Višnja and little Capo. First we got to choose from two homemade brandys and a got quick lesson about how truffles grow and about different kinds of truffles. After that we went on the hunt on a beatiful day after heavy rain - perfect conditions for the dog to find truffles. During about 45 minute walk we did find both white and black truffles. After that we had a lovely three course tasting experience both with fresh truffles and Prodan Tartufi products. We ended up buying every product we tasted because everything was very delicious. We would recommend this experience to anyone intrested in great food and truffles! And cute dogs!

An amazing truffle farm with super friendly and welcoming owners that gave us a short tour of their shop while explaining everything about their trade and history. We also got recommended some really good truffle restaurants to eat at that we really enjoyed. Would highly recommend to book the truffle tour here. We even received a complimentary bottle of truffles with the things we purchased. Would definitely come back again.

What a wonderful experience! The property is beautiful and the service was perfect! We learned about the history of truffles, how they train the dogs to find truffles, and off we went in search of "black gold"! We came back with three truffles and felt our search was a success. Upon our return, refreshments were waiting and we were served an exquisite 4 course meal featuring truffles in every dish. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!

Great family business and the best truffle food I have ever experienced. They take you on a truffle hunting tour and feed you afterwards. The truffle ice cream was yummy and they do cater for gluten free options. Highly recommended.

I wish that I could give this family and company a 10 star review. I cannot sing higher praises for the son of this family run business, Mirko Prodan. My fiancée and myself wanted to buy some Istrian truffles and just couldn’t find an open place when we were searching. Driving near Buzet we happened to see a sign on the side of the road. We quickly followed the signs to a very small house in a tiny neighborhood. I will say that it was a bit challenging to find. The store said “closed,” but Mirko came down anyway as a break from his university studies and let us buy whatever we wanted. Their product looks delicious and the prices are soooo reasonable. Even though he had a test for university and it was after 5pm, he then took us on a tour of the grounds and we got to meet his truffle hunting dogs. All four of them were so adorable. The views from the house overlooking Buzet were beautiful. I would come back here in a heart beat and do the truffle hunt. Please come here. Great people and great products in a great location of the world and in Croatia.

P.S. his mom and dad did a great job raising him. There is clearly pride in a long line of a family tradition.

We were lucky and found a single truffle.

After that we had so much food as seen on the picture and also scrambled eggs. You will get a lot so you dont need an early lunch.

A must visit to this wonderful, charming and friendly family run business. It was our first time truffle hunting and we learnt a lot about truffles and it's history in Istria from siblings Višnja & Mirko who were amazing and gracious hosts. We loved the dogs, "the hunt", and of course the delicious eggs with truffle. We will spread the good word back home and will be back!

A fantastic welcome from the Prodan family, a must do visit and experience while traveling in Istria. Craft, dedication, vision, friendliness and a delicious and generous meal at the end of a perfect morning. The dogs are cute, playful and smart, the truffles taste like heaven and the scrambled eggs cooked in front of you by Miss Vanda Prodan will be a memory for life. My husband and I visited Prodan Tartufi for a truffle hunt this past June and had an absolutely fabulous time! We had never been on a truffle hunt and so it was an interesting and super fun experience from start to finish. We enjoyed meeting the family's dogs, especially Mel and Pico who accompanied us on the hunt. We also enjoyed learning about the Prodan family business and the uniqueness of both black and white truffles (Mirko was a great guide!). What's more, we LOVED the three-course truffle-filled meal that they served after the hunt--YUM! Vanda (the mom) is an amazing cook; each bite we had was perfection and left us wanting more. I certainly hope we return to Prodan Tartufi for another hunt because this experience was A+++.

P.S. I want to give a special shout-out to Visnja, who kindly rescheduled our truffle hunt when we were unable to make our date last-minute. She was so, so sweet and we can't thank her enough!

P.P.S. If you can, purchase truffle products directly from Prodan Tartufi. We were so happy that we did since they cost much more in local shops and at the local markets. Buying direct from the seller is the way to go for more reasonable pricing!

One of the best places to go truffle hunting. You are treated like family, and they prepare the most delicious food for you, and you dine with beautiful views. I can’t wait to return. A must do when visiting Croatia.

My husband and I had a terrific experience at the Prodan Tartufi. Just walking in to the beautiful garden is so inviting and then you are warmly greeted by members of the Prodan family who are so friendly and knowledgeable. They hold generations of truffle hunting experience. We loved learning about the history of the region and the history of the Prodan family. The hunt itself was very rewarding in that Capo, the truffle dog found multiple truffles. With his master of course. Not to mention he was extremely cute and friendly)and we went back to a beautiful outdoor dining area to eat truffles in multiple ways. My favorite was the truffle eggs that they made right in front of us. A perfect experience while in Istrea and makes you feel connected to the history of the region.

Multigeneration family business. Very nice and welcoming service. The activity is interesting and very informative. The after mushroom hunting meals are extremely tasty. Not cheap.

Place to visit while in Istria! Amazing quality of truffle and truffles products and wonderful,wonderful family!!! We visit them every year!!!!

This completely family-run truffle-hunting and sampling experience is like nothing I've ever experienced! We got to meet the dogs and accompany them on a hunt, where they quickly found truffles! Truffles were prepared for us in several wonderful dishes, including truffle honey drizzled on ice cream. The west-facing scenery was gorgeous--highly recommend at sunset! They also serve wine and will help make arrangements for special occasions.
