another example of the beauty of Croatian nature. a beautiful bay (fjord) with crystal clear sea and the Velebit mountain in the background. Rest for the eyes and peace for the soul. Wonderfully.

the most stunning beach i’ve ever been to. yes there is a fee of €5 but I think this is necessary for the preservation of such a stunning site! i’ve seen reviews that the ticket man wasn’t polite which I don’t think is true, but there is definitely a language barrier as he doesn’t speak english so try to be patient! :)

Beautiful beach! If you happen to be in the area, I highly recommend paying it a visit. During my visit, it was the off-season, so there were only a few people around. Additionally, make sure to delve into the fascinating history behind this place.

Very enjoyable. A shame there is no visible information about the ship there, as we had to do research after leaving and were supirsed to learn it was from WWII. Well worth a visit

Suitable for walking, swimming, suping, kayaking ... a very pleasant place overall.

It is recommended to hike up from Zavratnica bay to the viewpoint at Zavratnica village (the path is not suitable for flip flops).

Really nice place with shipwreck in the water. Beware of the wierdly cold freshwater on top of the warm seawater.

We were there in the beggining of September on a weekday and it was nearly empty, very calm and peaceful. I recommend it. 5 eur is the entrance, there is a tiny bufe with outdoor toilet.

Awesome place. I read reviews about the guy at the gate or Playstation. He is really a nice guy if you take the time to say hello and understand that he does not speak English and yes he likes to smoke and in there country that accepted so respect him in his town and he will happily issue you a ticket to enjoy this truly magical place. Super shipwreck for kids and adults to Snorkel over and down to. Lovely walk from the little village along the coast. If you more adventurous take the road to the look at point and walk the 1km walk down. It's RI KY and steep so take it easy. Take lunch as you can spend a couple hours here. Be prepared to expect lots of tourists if weather is good also the tourist boats arrive so again go early.. I went during a thunderstorm and then no one else went so we have the place to ourselves and 1 hour late 30 degrees and sun.

Beautiful inlet that looks like small fjord (but is not) just below Velebit mountain near Jablanac. Easy walk and very nice view indeed so when passing near by your are to stop here and enjoy where Velebit is reaching our beautiful Adriatic sea.

Really wonderful place, you can take a 30 min. walk from the hill (parking lot) to the bay. ( Start of the tourist route is backward 200m from the parking!)

What a beautiful place! We walked down from the top and it took about 40mins. Loose stones all along the path so definitely suggest good shoes if walking down. Once youre there the scenery is just breathtaking, the water so clear and the shipwreck very interesting. Definitely recommend going there. They do charge you 20Kn per person.

Absolutely wonderful... A short walk from the main village ( make sure you park close ). There is a small fee to enter the park area. Hidden WW2 boat in the cove... If you get there late afternoon it generally becomes quite... Take diving goggles and paddle board... And loads of water. ENJOY!!

Nice bay a relatively small distance from the park. Entry fee is 30 HRK per person, in my opinion, too expensive.

Walking path is very well maintained, stony, about 1m wide, it is possible to walk with beach slippers. It takes 20-30 mins to reach the bay, but on the way there is WW2 shipwreck submerged a few m from the surface - snorkeling gear, face masks of at least swimming googles are highly advised.

Beach is c1rowded, with some shade available in the pine trees next to the walking path. A toilet with terrible stench is available, no other amenities.

It’s a good 20min walk from the Hotel, but well worth it. Visited in June and water was quite cold. But in a sunny day it’s perfect.

Such a nice place! Zavratnica in the past was used as a hunting ground for rich people from Vienna and Prague. Later in the WWII was used as a military port for resupllys. You can even see a sunken Ship in the bay area. There is also a nice trail to to view point that shouldn't take you more than 45 min. The trail is on bits roughed up, but I would say it is children friendly. Just wear good shoes, since rocks can be quite sharp on some points.

Very beautiful nature and good place to take a swim or go snorkling! The entrance fee is 3€ or 20kuna, but it is worth it! Crystal clear water!

Amazing walk on the coast of the mountain. I recommend to simply park on the street near to the Lux pension comfort hotel. The trail starts there and is 2km, about 30 minutes, 1h round trip. But it is unbelievably beautiful.

If you're travelling along the Croatian coast this place is a must! If you like the beauties of the natural environment than you will absolutely enjoy the visit. Situated underneath the mount Velebit, this natural park is an absolute delight. The valley is surrounded by big rocks at the bottom of which is a footpath which takes you from one side to the other all of which is wrapped up with an unbelievable view that can be seen from the top of a beacon. However, the best part is yet to come. The sea is a cristal clear blue/greenish colour, slightly chilly but perfect for a cool down over the hot summer days. Also, if there are any adrenaline junkies wanting to visit the place, there are a number of high rocks from which you can jump off into the sea ;)
