We came specifically from Malta to celebrate my son's graduation at this restaurant.

The experience at Korak was an unforgettable dining experience.

With the knowledge of the owner you're literally taken on an other journey.
Each and every meal paired with the best wines.
My favourite food was grandma's pie which was not part of the menu but you can feel the love in the food you're eating.
Will definitely visit again.
Thanks to all the staff.

Everything excellent, special praise for the relaxing atmosphere and professional staff (Vera especialy), excellent wines (among the best of Hillside Croatia), visited twice last year and certainly not the last time, it would be perfect if the restaurant had an a la carte offer, but I understand and support the current concept.

Have to say it's a 5+ stars for food, environment and hospitality. And let's not forget the wine!

Taking on the menu with wine pairing is a great idea - the Korak Chardonnay and Sauvignon turned out to be my favourites for the day.

With respect to dishes, my favourites were the aubergine and the snails.

The staff attending us were all really nice and passionate about the excellent service they offer and the (local) produce they serve.

All this helped make it a memorable afternoon which I'd be happy to do again in the future.

If I could give it six stars, I would. Excellent wines accompanied with even better food and very professional service. Vera was very knowledgeable, charming and kind. We will be back, for sure.

We had 8 course menu paired with wine of Plešivica...and i am glad we made that choice because all the dishes were interesting and nicely balanced and prepared with local ingredients, but some were really special like eggplant with almond humus and dessert - caramel ice cream made with goat milk ...wines - very nice,; all that paired with magnificent view....and last but not least - the service was excellent...

Absolutely stunning place. I was blown away with the place upon arriving. We were well taken care of through out the night by Vera and Bernard. The wine pairing for our tasting menu was exceptional and the food was thought through carefully. What made this an amazing experience was the personal touch of the Korak family. Vera explained everything on the menu very well and always was open to feedback and comments from us. And of course, we even managed to catch a glimpse of Velimir who stopped by to chat with us for a bit.

Truly beautiful. I will definitely be coming back here again to enjoy another experience. Thank you to the Korak family for the hospitality.

The best experience I've had in Croatia in my 26 years of life. Amazing views, and the best wine experience you could ask for. Even my fiancee, who isn't a wine drinker loved it!

Visiting Korak for lunch or dinner is not just about the (amazing) wines: it's a full experience that includes a very sophisticated cuisine, and involves the whole family in the making: a brother that cooks, another who is the winemaker, a grandmother that creates some of the dishes, and all are present to proportionate a very warm and super friendly environment. All the food comes from their own grounds (or from the neighbors), including the bread, the butter, the eggs, the salt (from pólen!), and so on. The food is gorgeous, a 5-star restaurant that matches the quality of the wines. Make sure to book a night or two in a nearby house (they can recommend a place), and if time permits enjoy the surrounding hills and vineyards, it's a beautiful wine country, some 45 minutes from Zagreb. Also a great opportunity to buy some of their more exclusive wines, not available elsewhere, like an amazing Rizling 2011. Can't recommend enough!

What an amazing experience, fine wines, amazing views, great service. I don't know what to add. We had the 5 wines tasting and tasted some additional ones as well. I would certainly recommend visiting here when in the area. Even if you're not a wine enthousiast, just for the experience. We could have stayed up that hill the whole day.

Last week on a Thursday evening had an exquisite dinner at Korak Winery. Choose 5 course menu (was actually 7 courses). Accompanied dinner with Plesivica wine offerings). Food was wonderful and service excellent. Had table facing window where we could overlook landscape. A beautiful setting. We ate over 3 hours, never feeling rushed nor neglected. Highly recommend this experience. Would come back.

Overall experience was exquisite. Staff was very professional, menu was very inovative and surprising. All that in a beautiful ambient on top of Plešivica hill, surrounded with vineyards.

Nestled in Žumberak hills, a picturesque part of Croatia just outside of Zagreb, Korak Restaurant is a hidden gem that delights both the senses and the soul. We embarked on an unforgettable culinary journey several weeks ago when my husband, a friend, and I indulged in an exquisite 8-course meal with wine pairing, and we were left astounded by the entire experience.

Perched on top of a hill, accessible via a windy road, Korak boasts breathtaking panoramic views in all directions. The restaurant, an integral part of a family winery, offers a setting that feels straight out of a fairytale. It was no surprise to discover that Korak had recently been awarded a prestigious Michelin star, and from the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something extraordinary.

Upon being seated in a charming garden, the stage was set for an evening of enchantment. The tasting menu, thoughtfully crafted by the talented chef, showcased culinary ingenuity at its finest. One of the most mesmerizing creations was the tortellini made from grilled vegetables, transformed into ashes, and then artfully reconstructed before being coated with homemade butter and adorned with shaved truffles from the Zumberak region. The truffles, lighter than the standard variety, offered a sublime twist to this dish.

Throughout the meal, we savored delicacies that celebrated the region's local produce. Local snails with chanterelle mushrooms and lamb's lettuce impressed with their harmonious blend of flavors, while the baby goat shank on a bed of almond puree, drizzled with almond honey saffron sauce, was a tender and memorable experience. Not to be outdone, the duck with smoked honey sauce emerged as one of the best renditions of duck we had ever encountered.

As if the culinary delights were not enough, the dessert of forest blueberries with dulce de leche goat ice cream left us in a state of pure bliss. The combination of sweet and tangy notes was a perfect conclusion to the gastronomic symphony we had indulged in.

Our enchanting experience wouldn't be complete without mentioning the delightful, freshly baked, homemade bread. The bread had a crust that was perfectly crisp, giving way to a soft and pillowy interior. Each bite was a heavenly experience, and we couldn't help but indulge in more than one slice throughout the evening.

The graciousness of the restaurant extended even further as they kindly offered us one loaf of their divine homemade bread to take home. This gesture left a lasting impression on us, and it was a wonderful surprise to savor the flavors of Korak once more in the comfort of our own home.

Our experience was further enriched by the warm and knowledgeable hostess, Vera, who shared valuable insights about the restaurant. We learned that Korak is truly a family affair, with the chef being Vera's brother and their father serving as the skilled winemaker. The wines, all produced by the family, were thoughtfully paired with each dish, enhancing the flavors and elevating the entire experience.

One of the most astonishing revelations of the evening was the efficiency of the kitchen. Despite being a Michelin-starred establishment, the restaurant operated with only a few staff members, a feat that left us truly impressed.

In the end, our visit to Korak Restaurant was nothing short of magical. The combination of exquisite cuisine, delightful wines, and the charming familial atmosphere made for an extraordinary evening that we will cherish forever. As we bid farewell, we couldn't resist taking a piece of the experience home with us, purchasing several bottles of our favorite wines, including the orange chardonnay and the pinot noir.

We are already eagerly anticipating our next visit to Korak, knowing that we'll be welcomed back into this captivating fairytale with open arms and indulged once again in the culinary delights that have rightfully earned them their Michelin star. If you find yourself in Croatia, make sure to take the journey to Korak Restaurant for an enchanting and unforgettable dining experience.

If someone understands food and wine there is nothing to add or take away, perfection. Very soulful experience. I'm very glad that something like this exists.

An amazing family winery that not only produces excellent quality wines, but also provides a tasting experience you would expect in Napa Valley or Bordeaux. Truly first class with attention to every detail, including a sommelier (Antonio) on staff who provided great insight to the tasting experience.
We were finishing a trip to Slovenia and Croatia and I had accumulated nine bottles of wine to bring back to Chicago. I had the capacity to bring six bottles in two checked bags, but was contemplating what wines I would not be able to bring. This was our last wine stop and I happened to ask Vera Korak if they had any means for me to transport wine to America? She was able to provide me packaging that I was able to check at Zagreb airport. I bought three of their wines to fill a case and check as luggage for the trip home.
Great hospitality and I bought the Brut Rose, the Blanc de Blanc and their Pinot Noir, which I thought rivaled many Burgundian wines I had.
Thank you so much Vera!!
