DA ROCCO Konoba

We tried this restaurant for the first time and were very pleasantly surprised. Super nice location with shade and cozy atmosphere.
The service staff was very friendly and very accommodating.
The food, starting from the appetizer, main course to dessert was all very tasty and also served quickly.
The children's table with painting utensils leaves nothing to be desired even for children.
We will be happy to come again.

The pasta is 11/10 and the chocolate soufle was amazing!!

I believe, that dining here on out first night was a mistake.. Da Rocco has set expectations so high, I’m worried that other places might not meet them.

Upon arriving, we asked for a table for 2 and immediately the waitress (who was later on serving us) found us a spot and cleared the table. The service was impeccable. The waitress was kind, genuine and above all, very professional. From explaining the dishes as she brought them to the table (the cold seafood starter plate), to later on recommending and properly serving the bottle of wine we ordered (Malvazija Uroboros by Trapan). At the end of our meal, she offered a digestive on the house (a red wine brandy which was also quite amazing).

Food wise the experience was exceptional. The cold seafood starters were flavorful and the portions were quite big. For mains, we had the homemade gnocci with veal and a tuna steak. The veal dish was incredibly flavorful with meat so tender it fell apart on its own, the tuna steak was grilled on the outside and raw in the middle. I cannot stress this enough but you could taste and smell the sea when it was brought to the table. Absolutely superb!

The prices were absolutely justified and very fair for what you get.

At the end of the meal, we do have regrets though. The first being that we were so full, we sadly did not have room for dessert, so I’m sure we will have to return and give those a try as-well. Second one was not asking the waitress for her name, as I would love to compliment her here, so this message reaches her.

Da Rocco is a hidden gem in Krnica serving up the best of Istria. The owners make sure everyone is looked after and the food is of the highest quality. A visit is highly recommended.

This is a place I can only recommend. Delicious food, big portions and reasonable prices. Very nice atmosphere as well. Real istrian konoba. And the personnel was so kind. They even prepared a vegan option. We'll definitely be back!

Very nice place. Looks like a modern take on a rustic Croatian restaurant. Food is superb, especially everything made on the grill. Also, they have an excellent dessert selection which is rare in this part of Istria.
