Truffle hunting was a great experience. It was cool to see how dogs locate them and hear about black and white truffles. The walk around the forest was fun and educational.

After hunting in the forest, we returned to the house to taste local delicacies. It was pretty interesting to taste different products with truffles and to find out how well they pair even with the dessert.

The hosts were warm, and we enjoyed every minute of our experience there. Big thanks to them once again!

Wonderful experience at the truffles hunt this morning, lovely hosts!! we found 2 black and 1 white truffles.. The 3 hounds- Bella, Lila, and Astra were wonderful and full of energy!! highly recommended for those who wants an experience of a lifetime!! the wonderful spread prepared after the hunt was delicious!! check out the amount of truffles inside and on the eggs!! wow!!

We absolutely loved and enjoyed this wonderful experience! We went truffle hunting for about an hour and learned about truffles, the region, took great pictures of Motovun from the forest. The truffle lunch where our kids could participate in preparations and we could learn some of the recipes was delicious. I would do it all again! We bought some of the truffle oils and salsas, prices are good and our local friends buy there too, which is a proof that it is not some tourist oil ;-). LOVED it, experience Motovun instead of just “visiting”. Thank you!!

This was the highlight of our Zagreb trip, and the competition wasn't even close. No joke, I started looking to buy myself an oaken truffle forest. If I can find one, I'm moving to Istria.
Anyway, we went truffle hunting with three lovely dogs. It was perfect. Two of the dogs were young and keen to mostly play with each other, the older dog was all business: truffles and reward snacks for finding truffles. They found 3 truffles (of good size? I guess?) which we later ate! Food was waiting for us when we got back, and it was quite a spread. All of it delicious. Once we had put a dent in that, scrambled eggs with truffle were prepared, which were the best eggs I've ever had. After that it was cake.
You won't need lunch after this. We purchased some things to take home, unfortunately we were traveling with carry on only so we couldn't buy as much as we wanted.
Hopefully we'll be back!

We had the BEST time on this tour. A leisurely walk through the woods with Miro’s truffle hunting dogs. They found 4 black truffles and 2 white truffles. After the hunt we were treated to a huge spread of truffle infused food made by Miro’s wife with local wine. The highlight was the scrambled eggs and dessert made in front of us with the truffles found that day. Excellent value tour, lovely people and the views of Motovun can’t be beat. Expect to spend up to 3 hours enjoying the experience. Highly recommend skipping breakfast so you have room for all the delicious truffle foods!

Great day out with my family with Miro truffle hunting and his wife Mirjana eating lots of yummy truffle related food. The walk is in a wood overlooking the beautiful town of Motovun. The two dogs are friendly and excited. We found two black truffles. Lots of mosquitoes so bring bug repellant! Back at home Mirjana Cooked delicious scrambled eggs with truffle and the chocolate cake with truffle and honey was a pleasant surprise. Lots of fun :)

Fantastic experience with Miro, her shop and her great truffle produce. As a chef myself I recognized and appreciated her great passion for food and for there family trade. We went ‘hunting’ for wild asparagus and ramsoms and I only wish I had booked my truffle hunt with Miro and husband. Next time!

This was the highlight of our 3-week trip in Croatia!

The overall experience was amazing! We were excited about this tour so we arrived 20mins early but the host, Mirjana was very welcoming and super warm. She greeted us with some drinks and snacks right away. After we were done drinking, we started the tour with Miro and their three lovely dogs.
We went with our own car following Miro and his dogs. The drive was about 10 mins from their house to where their land is. Miro started telling us about different types of truffles, native plants, and fruit that we saw along the way.
The dogs were super happy to be outside, they started sniffling and sure enough we found our first truffle in 15 mins! We got a good amount of truffles at the end of the hunt. The walk was quite easy, just make sure to wear long pants and comfortable shoes. After we were done, we drove back to their house and were delighted to see a mouthwatering meal with a local wine waiting for us. Every dish had truffles in it and each one was amazingly tasty!
While we were enjoying our meal, Mirjana was cooking an omelette using the truffles that we found. It was a unique and unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

One of the highlights of our trip in Croatia.

Imagine hunting for truffles in the woods and then having them cooked right in front of you an hour later. Imagine being fed an incredible amount of truffle spreads, oils and dishes that you can’t breathe after. Imagine having access to a store full of truffle products priced at half what you’d find elsewhere, and produced by the loveliest couple who hunt and prepare said products themselves.

Why you would skip such an experience, I couldn’t even imagine.

Absolutely a must do if you're in Motovun. An excellent family run experience. Delicious food included at the end of the hunt, prepared with the very truffles you find in the forest (if you're lucky enough to find them!) Enjoy the hunt. I sure did.

If you’re looking for an authentic & unique experience, you have to come here for the truffle hunting! First, you’ll watch the dogs show their magic in the forest. After you (hopefully) found some truffles, you’ll experience the amazing cooking skills of Mirjana. The different tastes were incredible!!

Dogs, food, nature, hiking, truffles, and wonderful people, what’s not to love?! I visited with my partner and parents and we had an incredible morning learning about the owners’ stories, going with the dogs into the woods, and eating some of the most magnificent food of our trip.

We all agreed it was our favorite day of our trip in Istria, I highly recommend you visit if you are around Motovun!
