Karlić truffles - GIR Ltd.

Lovely morning spent with Lydia and Lila (dog) truffle hunting.
Both of them have such great energy, it was such a delightful experience spending them with them in the forest.
We were really lucky to get a good amount of truffles within an hour.
The meal prepared for us was great too, we got to taste the different spreads, honey, truffle oil etc, which are all amazing.
The highlight was the scrambled eggs with shavings of one of the truffle we got from our hunt. Best tasting truffle scrambled eggs in my life.

I was initially resistant to black truffles, but that changed after this truffle exploration activity.
It turns out that white truffle is my favorite smell, and hunting for truffles is very fun and interesting. ❤❤
The puppies are very cute and the tour guide’s explanation is very detailed. After returning to the main building, there is a truffle tasting. If you like it, you can buy the products.

It was an unique experience, a cutie brought us truffles hunting with 2 dogs in the forest.. after, a pretty lady demonstrated her cooking skills at the in-house restaurant & made extremely delicious truffle pasta & donuts for us. We bought loads of sauces & wine.. hopefully it's good when I cook 😅😂👏🏻

My husband and I found out about the Istria region from a couple who was staying at the same resort in Plitvice National Park. They shared with us that the next day they would be heading to the area for a couple of nights to go truffle hunting. This immediately sparked our interest and I started researching tours to take on our wedding anniversary. I'm so thankful to have chosen Karlic Tartufi!! We were greeted by a smiling and kind gentlemen by the name of Igor. He introduced us to Michaela who would also be hosting us on the initial informative part of the experience. After a thorough history of the property and the region's rich truffle abundance we were then introduced to our guide Benjamin and the two adorable hunting dogs Bubitza and Lela. Off we went to a nearby entrance into the lush forest. We spent a very successful almost 2 hours with Benjamin which produced a total of 9 finds!! 4 were wild truffles which were a delicious treat for the dogs and 5 were white truffle!! It was thrilling to follow the highly keen dogs as they masterfully scoured the area through ravines, dense foliage and muddy sections to find the coveted white truffles!! We returned completely elated and received once again by Igor and Michaela. Michaela took us into their dining area which had the most amazing views!! All the food prepared was made to include truffle both white and black. It consisted of a charcuterie board with a variety of truffle spreads and cheeses, scrambled eggs with black truffle, pasta with white truffle and dessert topped with chocolate infused with truffle. Everything was absolutely amazing with rich truffle flavors that were extraordinary! I can't emphasize enough how absolutely amazing this tour was for my husband and I. Don't hesitate!! Book it!!

Such an awesome experience learning about Istrian truffles from a local family with a deep passion and history of truffle hunting. Strongly recommend doing the full experience with superb lunch at the end.

What great fun! We had a large group of 12, and opted for the truffle hunting tour and gnocchi-making workshop and dinner. The dogs are a lot of fun, especially if you've left your own pups at home on your vacation. Very interesting and educational and we found several black truffles! The cooking workshop/demonstration was amazing ... Plates of truffle-enhanced appetizers, followed by a generous main course of truffle gnocchi, which was fascinating to watch being made (some of us even took part in the rolling and cutting). And then some amazing fried fritters adorned with truffle sauces and slices of black truffle. Great views from the property at sunset. Not to be missed!

10/10 highly recommend! We had the pleasure of going on the morning truffle tour, and it was nothing short of splendid! First, we had the opportunity to learn about the different types of truffles, their distinctive scents, and the role of Istria in providing truffles to various countries, hotels, restaurants, and more. It made us realize how beloved truffles are worldwide!

After learning more about truffles, we embarked on the truffle tour with our truffle hunter and truffle dogs. It was a fascinating and adorable adventure witnessing the dogs in their natural habitat, diligently searching for truffles. We were fortunate to have found many truffles. The entire journey increased our appreciation for truffles as we discovered the challenges faced by the truffle industry and hunters.

Lastly, the tasting course was absolutely splendid and divine for truffle lovers like myself. I indulged in numerous delicious truffle delights that were so incredible, I had to skip dinner. But it was definitely worth it!

For my fellow truffle lovers out there, I highly recommend going on this tour! You will not regret it; it is truly one of the hidden gems of Istria! 😊

Very nice experience. Learned about truffle hunting, met some of the lovely canines and saw them in action. Then got to experience a culinary delight by trying multiple different ways to consume truffles. Highly recommend!

Wonderful excursion in search for truffles. The people here showed so much passion for the golden delight that it worked contagious. Great lunch and super variety for shopping.

This was one of the best excursions I've ever booked in all of my travels. The facilities and staff (including the dogs) were all world-class and our guide provided us with just enough knowledge to retain the information without distracting from the overall experience. After the initial meet and greet/history of the family business, our small group of 8 set off on our truffle hunt, where we spent around an hour walking through both their plantation and the natural forest with our guide and truffle hunting dog, Lila, (who found 4 small black truffles). Afterwards, we went back to their brand new tasting room, where we feasted on truffle-based canapés as well as their famous truffle eggs and unlimited white and red wine. What we also appreciated was that whilst the truffle hunting was done as a small group when it came time for the food and wine portion of the experience, each couple sat at their own table, enabling everyone to enjoy the food, wine and the stunning view without feeling obligated to make small talk with others. In total, our experience lasted about 3 and a half hours, and we both felt that it was well worth the 80EUR each.

It's quite a steep road to get to the top of the hill where the business is, but once you're up there it's really an amazing view.

We were excited about our truffle hunting tour for months before we got there, and from begin to end it was a truly great experience. Delicious food, a fun (and successful) truffle hunt, and it was nice to learn a little bit about truffles. Everyone was very friendly, as well.

My wife is not a fan of most outdoor activities but she loved this.

If you have any interest in this type of activity, then this is the perfect place to do it.

Imagine if you could combine the greatest things in life:
- beautiful nature
- adorable puppies
- truffles
- homemade gnocchi
- good wine

It might sound too good to be true. But it’s not. It’s real!!! And it is even more fun than it sounds. Getting to actually hunt for truffles and then eat the spoils is unbelievable. Ben, our hunter guide was as kind as can be and his passion for the art of truffle hunting was so clear to see.

Not only that but everyone on site was so fabulous. They’d give you the shirt off their backs! Or, in my case their hiking shoes! I came in sandals (rookie move) and one of the gals working said how about you take my boots. Can you believe that? And that warmth just continued through the day.

We had legitimately the best gnocchi I’ve had in my life. My heart was so full from chasing the truffle hunting dogs. My belly was full of truffles. There are no flaws in this experience.
It’s a 10/10.

Unique experience to go truffle hunting with dogs into the forest.

Must try when in Istria region.

Our family trip to Croatia was absolutely amazing, but of all the incredible things we did, this was our entire family’s favorite experience. From arriving on the estate, to meeting the sooo sweet truffle hunting dogs, to our guide, so kind and immediately involving our kids, seeing both the cultivated and wooded areas (and finding truffles within both areas!), and then making and eating our own gnocchi- who could ask for a better day!?!

It was also just so special to be welcomed by third generation families, and people who have worked at the estate for years. I feel like we really got to know the heritage and history, as to why truffles became so important in this area.

Lastly, when we got home and wanted to make gnocchi ourselves, Ivana was so kind as to send me the recipe and even narrate the instructions! We know this will always be one of our favorite family memories and hope many more are able to have this experience. ❤❤❤

This is a gem, a very beautiful place that you must visit if you are on your way to Istria. Everything is perfect, the food blew me away, the people are very kind, and the experience of looking for truffles is something you have to try.
My recommendation, come!

This was truffle heaven... The staff were warm & friendly, and their passion for their business was evident from the way they shared about truffles and the meals cooked with love before your eyes. Top it off with a stunning breathtaking view overlooking the valley. Definitely a visit I will remember!

We had a very pleasant afternoon at this wonderful place with Radmila, Luka and the dogs.
We were there as a group with our dogs as well.
They made us feel like home. The food and all the truffle products were very tasty.
After that we went truffle hunting with Luka and had a great time. He was such a great guide and was very patient with all of us.
