Paklenica Hut

Amazing hut with really good vibes and exceptional service.

Don’t be fooled by the Google maps directions. When you get close to the park there are signs showing the way. You want to make sure you park at the entrance 1. Here you pay a small fee to enter the national park.

Once you are at the hut you can go on several day hikes in the area. It is stunning beautiful. The hut is a great base and they have food, drinks and basic beds. Bring sheet and bag if it’s cold.

We arrived at the mountain hut yesterday after a good 3 and a half hour walk. The hostess (believe her name was Irena) quickly sat us down and got us some traditional bean stew. The stew tasted of love and was pure comfort food, exactly what we needed after that hike! Both the hostess and the host where very pleasant company and engaged us in nice chat about the set up and ethos of the mountain hut. We even got to read the guest book which showed lots of other travellers enjoyment from staying there. The whole setting was scenic and peaceful, it is a shame we did not know earlier about this gem as we would have loved to have stayed overnight for the full experience. Prices where very reasonable, especially considering the remoteness of the hut. Overall a very memorable and lovely experience, one we will continue to reflect on for years to come.

We felt bad for not saying goodbye to the lovely hostess but we think she was busy tending to the rooms and we couldn't find her, our apologies.

Stayed here overnight after a day of hiking. Got the fire started and spent the evening enjoying shots and music with a few people from the hut, great place to visit!

When I arrived at the hut, I immediatly felt a good atmosphere. The hammock was out, good music was playing and the staff gave me a warm welcome. They make fresh stew, wich was very tasty. There are nice places to have a dip in the river. It is a good place to do day hikes, many trails pass there to different parts of the park. And if you are lucky you can meet the donkys! Thank you Irena, for creating this little oasis in Paklenica!

Rested here for only a short while on our little but was met with really kind guests. We got some much needed hot tea. And of course super thankful for the ibuprofen mix 😌

Great mountain hut with great host! Either it's for one day hike or few days in mountains, this mountain hut has delicious food, beverages and can be your place to sleep. Suronded by mountain and forrest, without mobile conectivity, with nature pool made from stones it's a great place to lose your mind and find your soul :) From this place you can go to some of the well known mountain peaks such as Vaganski vrh, Sveto Brdo, ...

Was so so grateful to stay at this place after arriving at the Vlaski Grad Mountain Shelter (very nice for just a shelter) thinking it was the hut.
It was lovely and they were accomodating to our needs when we were food and water deprived. Couldnt do enough for us.
Definately recommend stopping by here if hiking in the Paklencia region.

Amazing hike with the family! It was worth every minute up there. Very clean and the 2 staff I met were very nice and helpful.

Great starting place if you plan visiting Velebit for few days. They have food and drink too refresh yourself. They also have a pool which can be used, though temperature is very low even in hot summer days.

They seem to be open all the time, I spend two nights there in March during the week. Really nice people. The wood-fueled stove in the kitchen was on throughout the day and could be used by me for cooking. They have toilets and running water.
Can be used as a good starting point for hikes. I came down from Ivice Vodine Cabin (ca. 2 hours) and went from Dom Paklenica to Zavrata Cabin (ca. 5 hours).

Perfect destination and starting point for trips to nearby peaks, even for the beginners. Just a 2 hour from the Paklenica. Very easy walk and surrounded with Croatia’s top nature details (forrest, rivers, flowers). Amazing hosts, vey hospital and helpful. Top recommendation if you are looking for a quick escape and easy daily trip to mountain. Don’t go in flip-flops 😂

We spent 2 night in planinarski dom. It's a great place to stay if you want to discover Pakleniça mountains, its clear rivers and its beautiful forests.
Don't forget to spend a moment in the natural pool after a day of hiking.
You don't need to bring your own food for dinners, the owner do simple but delicious local dishes all what a hiker needs after a day in the mountains.
Thanks to Irena for their advices about trails, if you have a question about the Pakleniça area she will have an answer for you. I will come back for sure!

(Squot toilet might seem uninviting but is more hygienic 😉)

Clean and neat place with pleasant owners and personel, running water inside and out, outside fireplace to warm up or to grill food, wooden tables for rest and lunch
