Tavern Bonaca

Bonaca in Dubrovnik exceeded all expectations! The mussels and fish soup were a divine introduction to their seafood offerings.
The slow-cooked beef stew with gnocchi was a melt-in-your-mouth masterpiece, and the risotto Bonaca and cuttlefish black risotto were flavor explosions.
To finish, the homemade apple pie and chocolate cake were heavenly. The attentive service and charming atmosphere elevated the experience. Bonaca is a culinary treasure, serving up exceptional dishes that make dining in Dubrovnik an unforgettable delight.

We found this gem on our first day at Dubrovnik. Quality food, friendly host and such a lovely ambience. I was looking for small fried anchovies since I arrived . Unfortunately couldn't find it in split. And here , in this cozy homely restaurant I found it ❤🤗.The hospitality is indeed top notch. We had their special risotto, black risotto and yummy vegetable soup. Thank you for the warm welcome and the delicious food ❤👍

One of the best seafood restaurants Ive ever visited. Service is very professional and friendly, food was delicious! Squid is really soft and the fish is really good quality. Definitely recommended!

Amazing place just outside the city center. The atmosphere is calm and cozy. We ordered (and in my opinion are the must have) risotto Bonaca which is rice with seafood and octopus goulash. Both were really good, and I recommend the octopus goulash even for those who don’t like regular goulash cause it’s not as spicy. I also ordered the apple pie with ice cream, which was also really good. We paid for all of this plus a bottle of beer and water 62€. The price is in line with those of Dubrovnik and I would definitely recommend it if you’re visiting the city.

We had the restaurant booked for one of our ten night stays in Croatia and it’s safe to say it was one of our favourite restaurants. We were served by Ivan who recommended the Seafood Risotto to me and my partner had the Swordfish steak. The food was beautiful. It was so good that we went reserved whilst on holiday and went back. Thank you for a lovely couple of evenings 😊

Great Service, Best grilled fish and grilled calamari we had so far! Apple pie like my mum bakes it... We loved that place so much, that we came twice in 3 days of our stay in Dubrovnik. Phenomenal! A family owned restaurant that specializes in the fish caught that day. I had a fabulous seafood soup and fresh grilled fish. The sauce (olive oil, fresh garlic & herbs) served with the fish is unbelievable. You can see the chefs working the grill in the kitchen through a window.

The mother or grandmother makes many of the specialties herself. Excellent service. Make a reservation because it stays busy despite being off the beaten path. An easy Uber ride (Uber’s very cheap & accessible) from Old town or anywhere on the hotel strip.

Top quality food with a beautiful view. Worth mentioning the friendliness of the staff as well. Grazie mille!

Fantastic. You will not find food this good at any other restaurant in Dubrovnik. Including by the way the very expensive and triple the price restaurants near Old Town. Short taxi ride from any hotel. Healthy portions displaying skill in the kitchen, and excellent service to top it all. 👌

Really lovely Restuarant a bit off the normal tourist area of Dubrovnik, but definitely worth the trip. Excellent, fresh seafood. Fabulous attentive service and we felt real value for what we enjoyed! Recommend the fish plate - was super delicious. Felt like a truly authentic Croatian family restuarant where mum was doing the cooking in the kitchen!

The BEST restaurant in Dubrovnik! I have been here every year I visit Dubrovnik and brings guests with me. Just the best.

We were in Dubrovnik on a cruise and had dinner at Bonaca one evening. It was an easy taxi drive from the port. We started with the delicious and generous plate Bonaca for 2 persons which was a charcuterie board of meats, seafood, and cheeses. We then had the Fish in Salt for 2 persons which was served tableside . What an experience this was! Highly recommend. The service was impeccable and the Croatian wine delicious.

Great foods! All the seafoods were super fresh and delicious!!! The service was good and all the staff was very kind and friendly. All of us enjoyed the foods and my son really loved one of the dishes with mussels. Highly recommend!!

An amazing gem in Dubrovnik far away from the touristic hustle. The food is fresh, very tasty and prepared with lots of care. The restaurant is run by a kind family. We had one of our best dining experiences in Croatia here. Go for the fish plater and you won't be disappointed. Many thanks for the great hospitality.

Incredible seafood restaurant. We ordered octopus goulash, seafood risotto, bonoco seafood for two and ribeye stakes, for starters - octopus salad and fish soup. Everything was delicious and very fresh.

Best meal in Dubrovnik. Excellent service. Amazing food. Seafood cooked to perfection. Lovely bread baked on site. Top notch chocolate bomb cake. Can't fault anything. Parking may be a little diffixult at the side of road
