Konoba Oprtalj / Taverna Portole

Perfect place to enjoy Istria and the food. We have been coming back here for 3 years now and it never disappoints. The food is delicious, whatever you order, the view is spectacular and we just love to chat with lovely Claudia from the restaurant, who always makes you feel like you're at home.

Secret recommendation: Very good Istrian restaurant with typical cuisine. All is prepared fresh and very nice people. Even the owner serves you personally with giving his best recommendations. Reasonable prices with very tasty dishes. In addition to that the place is covered with a lot of trees therefore also nice shadow and temperatures. Not too many people and beautiful view to the countryside.

Morning coffee and chat with very kind and friendly and professional staff.
Truffles made with pasta or any other way are delicious, also pasta with mushrooms is perfectly made. The view is AMAZING 😍, lots of shade.
Possibility to see locals and they way of living in a small village.
Lots of maroons fall of the trees this time of year so beware and take one for souvenir 😉

Thick shade, great food, good teran and above all a very nice and helpful chef. Although it was Sunday, and the tavern was quite crowded, the chef found time for each guest to personally recommend some of the excellent Istrian specialties.

The owner makes you feel completely at home… if your home was filled with extraordinary wines and excellent food. Jokes aside, his hospitality is really amazing. And the view from Konoba is absolutely mesmerizing! Last, but not least - do not miss the dessert, even if you will be completely filled up - it’s unforgettable.

The most amazing view, excellent service and beautiful food. I had veal and potatoes cooked in the oven. Traditional Istrian food at its very best. Highly recommended

What a hidden treasure!! Such delicious food and great staff!! The Giant Chestnut trees shading the terraced make for a wonderfully pleasant and cool atmosphere to enjoy this amazing local food!! Make sure you try the wine!!

Nice place on top of the hill, amazing food and friendly people.

Stumbled upon this place while driving in the area. Amazing location with outdoor seating that has an incredible view of the valley. Had the truffle pasta (€19) - fresh and tasty, even if it was gratings and not the big slices of truffle you get in some fancier restaurants. Wife had venison that was also great. Excellent red wine - a quart was only €3.50. A very memorable experience.

Such a magical place, sitting under the trees and listening to the wind and sometimes owl while dining such good food that you return and return for the food, for the company of these hard working yet always smiled people, learning their way of life and eating all that delicious, home made food. Do not skip this one.

Super Charming place with lovely staff. We had lunch and dinner and everything was perfect. We loved every moment we spent there! Romantic atmosphare with outside seating area. Desserts must try!
