House Katarina

Loved it. We were in house next door and decided to have dinner in House Katarina. The host was very friendly and told us a bit about history of the place. It is a family barbecue restaurant that offers fixed price menus (main course, salad, desert and appetiser). You can choose from 5 menus - I would recommend mixed meat as it was rather good. Menu is 150kn per person, and drinks are separate with reasonable prices. Good balance of quality and price and village scenery is great.

Had an amazing experience here a couple of nights ago - our host recommended this place for dinner in the garden and it did not disappoint! Great after an afternoon of hiking around the stunning National Park :)
It felt like we were eating in someone’s home - in a great way! We were very warmly welcomed when we arrived. There was a set dinner menu (for 20€) from which to choose, we had the grilled trout and the mixed meat grill which both came with grilled vegetables and potatoes. The potatoes were one of the best I’ve ever had and my husband concurs!!! There was a ham and cheese platter with delicious freshly baked bread and a choice of drink included in the set menu, and a choice of desserts as well! We had the strudel with peach, cream cheese and cherries - delicious!
We left with full bellies and full hearts!

We had there 2 wonderful dinners! They have the cutest place in the area and they treat you like family! They start dinner with a selection of homemade cheeses (taste delicious!) And some ham and bread, then they'll serve you some fresh greens and then the main course. If you are not used to really big courses I'd tell them to serve you a bit less because their portions are huge! Finally they'll serve you a dessert. All of this including a beverage for 150 kunas, which you'll gladly pay! It's not just great food, is excellent service with an awesome view. Totally in love with this place!!!

Had a great dinner here the other night. Simple menu but, for me, that was part of the charm - fantastic food in the middle of nowhere with no fuss. I had the trout and my husband had the grilled meat, both delicious. Portions are generous and price is very good value.

We had a wonderful time at House Katrina. We both had the Mixed Grill and it was delicious and the portions were very generous! They start serving at 6.30 p.m. and we watched the place fill up quite quickly after that. People were continuously arriving and waited around or came back to taste the food.

What a find...after a beautiful day in the Park we were looking for semewhere good to eat. After looking at the restaurant options near us we were in no doubt we wanted to try House Katarina. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess and her family who all seem very involved in the family business. The food was delicious..almost everything homemade from the smoked prosciutto to the cheese on the platter. The trout and vegetables were delicious. Thank you to Katarina and family for a wonderful experience!

One of my best meals ever. Fun setting in the garden in the apple orchard. I selected the grilled fish. It came with a drink of choice, a prosciutto and cheese plate, bread, salad, under the dome potatoes, and s dessert. Cooked by the husband at a charcoal grill, service by wife and daughter. The fish was so good I'm still thinking about it

You need to eat here! Best Croatian food we had on our week long trip. The worst part is we will not be able to eat here again. The first night here we went to the more touristy place (do not go, it was terrible). With this dinner you get a drink (wine was homemade!), cheese & meat plate, salad and bread, plus a main course with veggies and potatoes. Oh, and a dessert. And the owner was extremely jolly and offered us more food (already large portions and hard to turn down!) All for a 150 Kuna/person. Without a doubt, the best decision we made for real authentic Croatian food. You’ll thank us later.

Very friendly, family owned, authentic Croatian outdoor restaurant. Large portions, very tasty food. If you are visiting plitvice I would definitely recommend having dinner here.

Sadly we were only in plitvice for a day, I would have loved to try some of the other menu's.

Simple menu of 6 similar dishes consisting of delicious potatoes combined with different types of meat and/or vegetables. Starts of with a plate of local meats and cheeses and a nice desert. Good price and quality above quantity, we had 4 couples waiting for a table within a short time after we arrived so get there early (6:30). Seating is outside only but they offer blankets.

Amazing place, super welcoming and friendly owner, delicious food. Portions are huuuge. For some weird reason no info on prices before you order. Cash only, so be prepared. We were extremely happy to have a dinner there after a day on the lakes and had very positive emotions.

Location is walking distance to the park. This is a big plus because parking looked to be a mess and there is a charge. The room was basic but very nice and clean. The owner was very helpful and nice. She offers a breakfast for 45 Kuna per person. It had a variety of European breakfast foods. I would stay there again.

Very good restaurant near Entrance 1 of the Plitvice National Park. The are choice of five or six fixed course dinner - grilled trout dinner, mixed grilled meat dinner, grilled chicken dinner, etc. Each dinner starts with a plate of cheeses and prosciutto, followed by salad, the grilled of your choice, and dessert. The grilling is done right outside in a large open brick oven. I had grilled trout and steak on two separate occasions and they were done to perfection. It is definitely the best restaurant in Plitvice area. The place is small and gets filled by quickly. Usually by 6pm the seats are full. Therefore reservation is recommended.

The food was so fresh and tasted delicious. The best meal we've had in Croatia so far!

It was also some of the warmest and pleasant service I've had in my life.

Family run and setting is very charming.

After visiting the Plitvicer Lakes we directly went there without reservation. After waiting 30 min. we got a table. It was worth waiting! The meal (20 Euro) incl. starter, main mail with extra warm, homemade bred and Ajvar, and a dessert. The owner was very friendly and the garden lovely. 😀

Really great service. Food is like from my grandma: amazing! They are open just for dinner with some daily options but all looked great. Got the vegetarian dish and was great. Nice relaxed ambience. Really close to Pletvice park.

Nice place. Nice room with large bathroom. Very close to the park(walking distance). Plenty of parking space. You can park there the check out morning if you want to see the falls again. Nice dinner in the backyard garden, where they cook for you. A bit pricey but a wonderful experience. Only thing is floors squeak making noise waking you up in the morning.

Super friendly host. We had dinner here and it was really delicious. Big portions, amazing starters and tasty dessert. Great place to eat!

Excellent accomodation and local food in the garden. Beautiful and authentic, with great service. We ate here all of the three nights that we stayed, and were never disappointed. Highly recommend.
