Bribirska glavica

Amazing place, regretfully completely forgotten, windy which makes it a perfect place for an excursion when there's heat. Trekking shoes or trainers advised. Should come back for the sunset. Visualisations thanks to qr codes. It has a great potential.

It's completely self guided. Not a lot of information so read up before hand.. But can feel the energy of the place. You get amazing views. Worth a trip if history is your thing

Bribirska glavica is a small hill, 300 meters high that dominates the area. It has been inhabited since like always and today it's home to an important Croatian archeological site - Varvaria, an antique municipality and later medieval town, home of the Šubić family. Supposedly only 20% of the location is explored and restored. There is a small museum which opens only with pre-arranged visit.

This was seat of of the famous princes of Subic when they ruled Dalmatia and Croatia. Later during Turkish wars many left westward while other settled from east and now we can see monumental remains of once mighty fortress. I will also present here pictures of near by sights of Vuka Mandusica Kula (remains of tower) and very interesting Mackov kamen vrh (peak) above Ostrovica as they are still not opened apparently.

Amazing view, rich history - must see if you're in the area.

Haven't been to the museum but the ruins are awesome! The craftsmanship of ancient Romans was incredible. Although it is very possible that the medieval era additions blurred a clear vision of the roman city plan.

Good piece of history for history buffs, you can also find some original roman mosaic in the ruins. Shame that the soroundings were desolate

Nach Parken bei letztem Haus, machten wir einen leichten schönen Aufstieg weiter rauf. Wunderschöne Ausgrabung rund um den Friedhof, im Sommer sicher mit vielen Touriste, jetzt im Winter der Ausblick mit schöner Rundumsicht für uns alleine gewesen. :-) Lohnenswert, sicher auch im Sommer! Bribirska glavica nudi više lokaliteta koji su povijesno zanimljivi,osim predivnog pogleda ovdje se nalaze sačuvani ostaci iz različitih razdoblja i vrijedi posjetiti, nažalost muzej ne radi i uređenje lokacija je još u tijeku.

Niesamowite, tajemnicze ruiny z różnych epok. Zapierające dech w piersiach widoki. Zero turystów ;) Fantastycznie!

Niezwykłe miejsce z duż ilością ciekawych ruin. Dojazd na szczyt wzgórza.

Povijest od Ilira preko Rimljana do Pavla Šubića. Impozantna pozicija i pogledi na Zagoru i primorje. Treba bolje prezentirati i promovirati. Muzej je bio zatvoren. Može se do gore autom, solidan makadam. Kada posjetite Skradin i Krku obavezno navratiti do slavnog Bribira.

Vrlo zanimljivo. Šteta što nisu lokaliteti bolje prezentirani... Ali sreća da se na internetu može pronaći nešto informacija...
Riječ je o prvorazrednoj atrakciji... Slojevi povijesti sjajno se razotkrivaju...

Preljepo i poučno ko voli

Povijesno mjesto za hrvatski narod, a koje na žalost nije niti uređeno niti prezentirano niti hrvatskoj javnosti niti šire, a o neiskorištenom turističkom potencijalu da i ne govorim.Postoje li razlozi za takvo zanemarivanje povijesnih hrvatskih mjesta?? Preporuka:posjetite ovaj povijesni lokalitet i osjetite dašak povijesti uz predivne panorame obližnjih planina i udaljenih jadranskih otoka!!

Veličanstveno arheološko nalazište, postojbina knezova Bribirskih, nažalost zapušteno,prilazna cesta izlika a,muzej zatvoren, po meni neizostavno mjesto za posjetiti i zadiviti se pogledu koji puca s te Glavice braniteljice i Šibenika i Zadra u ona vremena,preporuka obavezno posjetiti.Bajame podno Glavice osušene a nekad u proljeće procvjetale izgledale su kao da je pao snijeg🥲
