Beauty that you need to see during your lifetime.

It's on the island of Mljet/beautiful Croatia. You can first catch a ferry which takes approx. A 15-minute ride from the mainland to the island.

The nearest village where you can park is Babino Polje and it takes a 20-minute walk downhill.
Or simply take a boat.
Its Croatia.

Absolutely incredible cave to jump and dive in!! The view were amazing and the water so blue :) theres a little bar there too! It's however a bit of a walk to get down and a couple of steep rocks so do prepare some good walking shoes. Only way into the water is by jumping :) bring snorkels, you'll regret it if you don't!

Easy trail from Tommy's up to the cave's viewpoint. After that, and until you reach the sea level, it becomes a bit harder. With loose rocks and a bit of easy climbing involved. But it's so much worth it! The cave is one of the most beautiful snorkeling spots I have ever seen. Lots of fish and an amazingly beautiful turquoise water. Swimming into the cave, and even more, out of the cave is an amazing experience. Best time to do it is at around noon, where the sun baths the whole spot.

Great place to see and swim. Amazing water. Only boats could be more careful with leaving waste around. No tickets place is for free.
The best is to park near Tommy market and do the nice walk. You can do it even with flip flops just be careful.

Turn right after the cemetery coming from the national park, about 1.6 km on a dirt road until a small parking then about 10 MN of walking going down to the cave. Awesome swimming in the cave

Love this place! Must see if you are on Mljet. About 25minutes walk from the main street in Babino polje. There is small parking lot above the cave (15minutes walk from there), but I do not recommend to use a car as the "road" is pretty narrow and you will probably scratch the car on the branch... Bring the comfortable shoes, as there is little bit of hiking.

By far, my most favourite spot in Croatia.
You must come here with snorkelling mask to see the indescribable beauty underwater. The light rays when you swim in, and the colours when you swim out of the cave, it is unforgettable!
But it is quite difficult to go back due to steepness and the length of the path from the cave.

Beautiful cave and fun to cliff jump into. Little bit of a hike into it but worth it, especially if you plan to swim in. At the time I went, there was a sea side art exhibit by the little bar

The trail is a little wild, but definitely worth it. You can jump from the cliff and swim under the cave. If the tide is high, maybe it’s a good idea to just check with the people from the bar if it is safe to cross the cave swimming, but when I went there was no problem. It was beautiful!

This place is well worth the long steep hike for the beautiful glowing water alone.
Do not recommend if you are afraid of caves, open ocean or have bad knees.
Be sure to grab a drink, send a postcard and view the little art gallery!

One if the most beautiful and special things I have ever seen, and I have travelled a lot - including seeing Northern Lights in Norway. There is a very steep hike to the cave and back (30 min each way), but then the reward is worth it.

Make sure you don't miss this place when you are on Mljet. Not so difficult to get there by walking, with my little one of 6yrs old we reached there in around 30-40min...and when you jumped in the cold and blue sea, all the efforts paid off !! The cave is so profond with deep blue color (not recommended for people have claustrophobia ;). Make sure to bring your diving masks and mountain shoes.

Beautiful spot. You have to hike a little but it's worth it. There is a Tommy supermarket where you can stock up on water/snacks and also a little bar right by the cave if you want a beer. We were there in June and it was peaceful and not crowded

Visited in September. 20-25 minutes walking distance from the village of Babino Polje, easy to find following the signs on the road. A bit steep while approaching the cave but all in all nice walk on a paved path. If you want to see the cave from inside you need to swim into it. Take your diving equipment. Best time to visit during the day would be around noon as the colors are wonderful.

This cave is awesome. Google maps tell you to park near Tommy but you can use a dirt road (towards Pomena) to park closer. The track is pretty rocky but it’s worth the walk once you get there and see the cave and the amazing blue water. There is also a small bar down there (I don’t know if it’s open all year but definitely in summer)

Beautiful rocks, unfortunately we were not able to swim inside the cave because of the waves and wind. Make sure you go when there is not a lot wind for a full experience ;)
I would recommend to wear snickers because you need to go down a rocky mountain, it is short but easier if you have normal footwear

Beautiful cave, and the sea is divine - the color, the clarity, the fish. The rocks are pink inside the water in the cave, and a sea turqoise when there is sun. It is posible to dive from various heights. The most beautiful place, but to be able to see it you need to know what to expect:
1. Wear comfortable and stabile shoes, not flip flops. You need to hike to get there, and the last part to get there can be a bit tricky.
2. You actually swim into the cave, the hiking trail is closed. So if you want pics from inside think ahead (waterproof bag, go pro etc)
3. Besides hiking, you can reach it by boat, so if you are not comfortable walking on rocks and trails, that might be a better alternative.
4. You do not need much stuff, the less the better. However, if anyhow possible bring diving mask, it is half of the experience to see under the water - the rocks, the fish, the color and perfect rays of sunshine underneath.
5. It is the most beautiful in the morning, i.e. 9-11 AM, and when there is no wind
6. There seem to be a small place where you can get a refreshment but not sure how and if it works.

Amazing cave with crystal blue water surrounded by cliffs. You can enter cave by swimming. Sunbathing is possible on flat rocks. 20m before cave is bar where you can have a drink. It takes about 15 minutes by foot to reach the cave from parking.

If you went to Mljet and haven't been to Odyssey cave, you missed the most beautiful attraction on island.
You can visit it by sea or by foot. From main road it is cca 40 walk trough nice and marked path. You will arrive above cave and view is marvelous.
From here you can climb down in the cave, which I do not recommend as it is really steeply. Option 2 is walk down to the shore, jump in the water and swim into the cave. We had 1.5m waves so it was kind of scary jumping and swimming but we did it. Exiting water was most problematic as you need to use one rope and climb on the rock while waves throw you around. But it is worth it. One of the most beautiful sights we have seen.
Recommendation - have some kind of waterproof camera as pictures from cave out are must have. I had snorkel and sight underwater is breathtaking.

It's a rather long hike down but totally worth it! It's a nice view and a beautiful swim into the cave. We got there around 15:00 and the light was nice. The sunbeams hitting the water! Be sure to bring your snorkeling gear!
