Barka Tapas & Wine bar

Popped in 2 nights ago for a couple of small plates each and couple of glasses of wine, exactly what you want from a tapas bar. Amazing flavours and service. We were made to feel welcome and well catered for, despite being a server down, which you wouldn't know it from the energy of our Irish host who never left us unattended for long. Like he said, "We're not going for good, we're going for great", and it really was. All recommend food was delicious and I highly recommend a visit when you're in the area.

Barka Tapas & Wine Bar in Dubrovnik is an absolute gem. The tapas are delectable, with each dish showcasing a depth of flavor that lingers on your palate. The owner, Matthew, truly elevates the experience. Not only is he incredibly personable, but his extensive knowledge about wine and tapas enhances the dining experience. The ambiance of the place is both cool and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind, sip on exquisite wines, and engage in delightful conversations with Matthew. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and give it a 100% endorsement. If you're in Dubrovnik, make it a point to visit and indulge in some fine tapas.

The best laneway at night in Old Town, Dubrovnik. The BEST food. We couldn't stop ordering the tapas, it was mouthwateringly delicious. Great service, great atmosphere, so glad we stumbled across this little place. It will be hard to eat anywhere else while we're here

I can’t describe the quality of the tapas at this place, the octopus salada was fantastic. The drinks and food price was really good compared to other places in Dubrovnik. I am a tapas addicted and I sure this place is worth the visit. Matt the Irish guy was very friendly and showed passion about the business, it looked like a family owned and operated business.

Great atmosphere and music!!! So cute and hidden in old town with not much seating but some of the best service we’ve had! Good prices and fresh and local food that was super yummy :))) definitely would come back!

Matthew is the consummate host. This handsome Errol Flynn looking gentleman was very attentive, with constant jovial Irish charm at his beautifully lit restaurant. His adventure movie backstory was told to me that he made a long arduous million mile pilgrimage from the cold rainy fairy infested lands of Ireland to the sunny fast talking/chain smoking food mecca that is Bar"the"lona. It is here where he toiled away until he acquired the ancient secretive dark magical culinary arts from proud learned Spanish gastronomical wizards passed down from master to eager apprentice over the eons...with the sole, SINGULAR purpose of making tasty tapas (i.e. high end open-faced sammiches, among other magical delights). He carefully crafted a choice menu with the highest quality and taste in mind...that was also fairly & sensibly priced 😉. Whether you have a big appetite or small, the bite sized tapas will satisfy(!) and leave your soft pillowy belly engorged as you waddle away to explore the many fun adventures that await you at King's Landing! 🫅🐲👍 Enjoy!

Were drawn in thanks to the high ratings and suffice to say our expectations were exceeded. Try the cod polenta and ask Matt for wine recommendations. You’ll be glad you did.

We stopped at this place for a drink and a small bite and were not disappoined. They have a few nicely set tables outside and the atmosphere was great. The young lady who served us was fantastic- very polite and attentive. The prices meet the quality, especially taking into concideration that the place is in the old town. Would go back again!

Fantastic little space just off the Old Town main street with great food and service. You can really tell that they care about what they put on the table. They get you to order the tapas in small batches so everything comes hot and fresh. I would really recommend the pancetta tapas! Prices are also reasonable compared to the exorbitant prices everywhere in the Old Town!

We randomly turned on that street and decided to have a drink. The waitress was lovely, very kind and friendly :) at first, we took an aperol spritz and gin tonic, they were not the best, but at least they were twice less pricy than on the main street. Then we also took a glass of rose and it was good. Nice place to be in the old town but just a bit away from the main hustle

We walked for awhile to find a good place to have some wine and snacks. Then we found this place! Tapas were great and the wine was very, very good! The Irish guy had amazing recommendations for both food and wine. Loved him! Didn’t disappoint. Prices are reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely beautiful food and service! Stumbled on this place by mistake and couldn't be happier. Matthew the owner is an amazing host and couldn't have asked for a better experience, the atmosphere and food/drink is amazing. The quality of the food and drink is of the highest standards even for Dubrovnik.

10/10 if you're visiting Dubrovnik it is a must you won't regret it!

Love this tapas bar. It was exactly what we wanted after a long day at the beach - super easy and relaxed. We shared tapas (I loved the cod dish and the olive spread sandwich) and wine(good local options). The staff were great and it was a lot more affordable than other restaurants in the old town. Definitely pay it a visit.

We stumbled upon this spot for some wine and tapas away from the busy main street, we were delighted we did! The tapas were delicious, and the wine selection was grea. Shoutout to Mathew for hooking us up with killer recommendations for both the food and local wine. The service was amazing and the best part was it didn't break the bank.The staff were super chill and knew their stuff. Can't wait to come back for round two on our next trip to Dubrovnik!

Love this little gem in the Old Town! Had a short wait for a table but Matthew took my number and rang within half an hour letting me know to come back at my leisure. The tapas was great - got to try the cod one 👌🏼 - lovely venue, great food & exceptional service - Matthew new our wine selection before we even said anything. Huge shout out to the team here! 🫶

Initially wasn’t going to stop here, but Matt drew us in with his accommodation and hospitality. The tapas were amazing, and the wine he selected for us was delicious. He even gave us a complimentary charcuterie as a thank you for coming in. Would definitely recommend and cannot wait to come back!

A wonderful experience for my three friends and I. We were so lucky to stumble on this hidden gem in the Old Town, fabulous food wonderful wine great music .But most of all Matthew was such a fantastic host he was attentive charming and a smile for all.
Will certainly recommend this magical spot to all my friends.

Was in the area and stumbled upon this hidden little gem, so we decided to stopped for a bite to eat and glass of wine. The food was delicious, complements to the chef, and all the lovely staff for your hospitality. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend 👍
