Castle of Sárospatak

A beautiful historic castle surrounded by nature. There is a walking path around the castle and you don't have to buy a ticket unless you want to go inside of the castle. The gardens surrounding it are very nice

You can enter the castle itself, which is nice, but if you want to visit more of it, you have to buy the ticket. There are several options, with some of them being for example two for one, or three for one... The guide is usually in Hungarian, but I guess if you want it in other languages, you can ask beforehand.
You can also walk in the huge park and there is a large playground for the kids. There are many restaurants and parking space around the castle, and the area around the castle is also beautiful and calm.

You have to buy a ticket to check the inside of the castle with a tour guide, otherwise you can only check the outdoors and surroundings. It's a nice experience either way!

We could not visit the museum, too late, but a walk in the surrounding park, which is free and available outside museum hours. Very attractive castle and fortifications.

Nice place. It's a pitty that the tower needs another ticket, not full included.

A rich piece and a part of Hungarian history. A must visit, to get to know and understand the Hungarians will for independence and self-determination.

Nice castle, very historical memories and stuffs of knights and about Rakuczi Family. It prohibited to take photos, however enjoyable time.

The staff is helpful, they give you a funny guide in the tower. The museum is also very nice, with a lot of interesting items, like old books. The photo ticket is expensive, not sure it's worth for everyone, but it was worth for me. The park is not big, but don't leave without a walk around.

If you ever visit the Northern part of Hungary, you HAVE to visit the Castle of Sárospatak. The amount of historical significance that it carries is truly remarkable. The guided tour is detailed and interactive, you are going to feel like you are in the 17th-18th century.
Prices can be a bit too harsh, however, this is a perfect place to learn about the Rakoczis history. Can't recommend it enough!

We got a very informative tour in the red tower of the castle. The museum section was decent too, lots of interesting facts of the Rákóczi family and the Hungarian history.
