Yasati Meditation Center

An extension of the ISMC center in Bacom, Puncak. Very convenient for Jakarta city dwellers to do meditation practice & listen to dhamma talks, which held almost every weekend/regularly. Very recommended for those who'd like to learn & practice satipatthana meditation in the city.

Yasati is meditation center for practicing vipassana meditation under Mahasi Sayadaw method. Well established with proper discipline and management, assuring the best condition for those new and experienced yogi from many countries.

Three story building with two sizable meditation halls featuring burmese Buddha statues. The meditation center is full air conditioned.

Activities are mostly sutta class, ritual prayers and chants, dharma talks and meditation from theravada buddhism.

Yasati has all year long programs, tandem with their bigger center at Bacom, cisarua. The host of the places are the Sayalays, female novice monks / samaneri as nuns are not allowed under their tradition.

Yasati has multi days program / retreat, and decent dormitories are provided with aircon and hot shower.

The main meditation practice is mahashi method, contemplating the rise and fall of the abdomen from breathing. This practice combines samatha and vipassana in one meditation. Sounds efficient but actually difficult to do. Practitioners will have one on one session with Sayadaw for advice.
