Mass was in Indonesian but of course easy to follow and the Saturday vigil Mass (1830 hrs) choir did sing some parts in Latin, and the Kyrie Eleison. After Mass I walked to the main street to the Maladum Coffee Roasters for dinner and great coffee, and across the street to the Tok Batik shop and got some batik tulis (hand drawn with natural dyes) for myself! Excellent and convenient. Hardly anyone spoken English even if they nodded but my use of Bahasa was handy.

Gereja Katolik St Petrus adalah salah satu paroki dari keuskupan Manokwari-Sorong yang ada di kota Sorong. Gereja ini cukup besar, mampu menampung umat 250-500 umat. Letak gereja ini pinggir jalan besar dan bisa terlihat jelas pada saat lalu lintas. Hanya dikit halaman parkir sangat terbatas dan pintu masuk dan tempat duduk pengguna kursi tidak tersedia.
