Baluran National Park

This place is so amazing, truly the Africa of Java. We saw different species of monkeys, buffalos, deers, peacocks, birds. It's really really hot and dry in here so be sure to bring plenty of water. We stayed there for the whole day and it was so worth it. We saw the monkeys all day long, the buffalos too. The deers came along on the afternoon. Around 4:30pm, the animals move around and cross the road to get back to their place before sunset.
The nature and vegetation and scenery is fantastic, so beautiful, almost unreal.
The price is a little higher than indicated: the entrance fee is now 160k per person (like 10k if you come with a motorcycle). I guess it may be because they totally sealed the road now. It is now a really good and neat and smooth road the whole way long to the beach, so no worries with riding a motorcycle here. The beach is also really nice, some boats, plenty of monkeys on the shore. We had lunch there: there is a small, cheap and really yummy warung. There's also another one halfway between the entrance of the park and the beach (in Bekol). And there's also a charming shott mangrove walk by the beach!

We really recommend to come here if you're nearby. It is pretty pricy but you won't regret it!

Need to visit at dry season to get Africa van java vibes, but still nice view & experience. Can observe lot of animal such as buffalo, monkey, deer, eagle, birds etc

Beautiful! The national park has a evergreen forest, a savanna, a nice beach and a mangrove forest. You need a vehicle to go around, we were able to rent a scooter at the entrance for 100k Rupiah.

Have various animal, wild, endemic, nocturnal also. Awesome savana, it’s famous to call “little africa or africa van java”.
This place should be on your bucket list when you are going to East Java! It’s truly wonderful.

Loved this place, we saw the deers, monkeys, peacock, wild chicken, and some fowls, all in the wild. Amazing view of the Bekol Savana and Bama Beach. I also amazed with the mangrove forest near the beach. Simply beautiful.

Wild jungle. Animals are free 🥰. Monkeys are a bit annoying. I went up the tower. It was so beautiful the view from there. Basically you could see the whole national park from there

Beautiful place that you have to visit when in Banyuwangi with only 16K/person (for local people). Unfortunately we didnt met the deer and the bull there. Also beware of the monkeys that very aggressive especially when you bring foods.

The view is great, you can see savanna and there are actually some wild animals like Javanese bull, peacock, monkeys, deer and more. In the background you can see mountains, and not far from the savanna there is Bama Beach. There is also tower for us to watch the savanna from there.
It's only about 1 hour from Ketapang Port.
There are no night Safari, so when it's almost dark the rangers will patrol around to remind visitors.
Please visit since it's a really beautiful place. But please please please don't litter, don't do anything that can danger or disturb the animals. Keep this place as natural as it is and as beautiful as it is.

A vast savannah in Banyuwangi, East Java. You can see many domestic animals and unique trees in this area. This National Park is also well-known as Africa Van Java. After touring the savannah, you can visit Bama Beach for a walk in the mangrove forest or snorkeling.

• It is located at Situbondo Regency, but almost of the visitor/traveler/foreigner have known that place as a part of Banyuwangi Regency.
• If you got lucky, you will see some wild animals like buffalo, monkey, snake through the journey.
• You will pass the damaged road when enter the national park, really an adventure journey.
• There are many spot for taking pictures with incredible view over there.
• You have to pay when enter the national park, but so sorry I don't know hiw much it is.
• Just come into Baluran and visit Banyuwangi and I bet you will fall in love with this city.

Great place for photo.. Baluran National Park is well known as Africa Van Java, has a great Savanna view just like Africa. From the main road, if you drive from east (from Banyuwangi), before you entering the forest, you can find the national park office and this is the enterance to Baluran National Park. From the ticket office, you have to drive around 12 km through bad stony road before we arrive to savanna. Inside savanna, you can find small house for rent. At the end of savanna you can find beach. Inside savanna, you can see a lot of monkey, wild chicken, variety of bird, peacook, byson and deer.

Well you can't do much except for enjoying the view and feel blessed that this kind of savannah exist here in Indonesia.

Came here during pandemic, and they will asked you to provide either rapid test or pcr swab test.
And you can book your ticket online !!

You can find your best spot to take a picture, or just chill while watching the nature healing your mood and soul.

You also can go to the tower, to enjoy overall view from this Baluran Park.

Nice natural park.
Regulation asked us to registered before coming due to Covid-19.
Too bad it was not in their formal website.

After small discussion they gave us access to go inside.

Beautiful scenery, especially the beach. But the path inside the road is not that long.
It could be nice if we could go deeper to the forest.
Maybe next time.

love the panorama around savana. good destination to travel. unfortunately there is no other animal you can encounter except monkey.

there were deers but they no longer around. maybe because of human invasion as this place get their fame.

but still it is a good destination for your trip
