The tour company was great, 10 stars for them.
Completely organized everything for us from Medan to Bukit Lawang to their accommodation. Highly recommended Gino’s Place. Lodges were clean, beds comfortable, air-con and WiFi all good. Short distance to Bukit Lawang for Orangutan and monkey spotting.
Food was excellent and the hosts and all the staff made our group very welcome and we felt like home. Our stay was the highlight of our holiday to Sumatra. Special for ibu Nani who is take care of our food at Gino’s Place i love your chicken curry and sweet and sour chicken the best food that i ever tested. Really big thanks from us.
All employees arrived before the agreed time, had great knowledge and were really helpful and friendly. They could create a great environment in the group.
During the Jungle Trek, as the hike was a bit challenging, they were helping us all the way until the final destination.

I want to give a special thanks to Desiree that is one of the most customer-obsessed person I have ever met. She really cared to understand our needs and to find solutions for us, regardless if that would benefit her company or not. Perfect english and constant availability to provide information and help.

Also a thank you Adi and Setto, our Jungle-trek’s guides, that had a great knowledge of the jungle and its perks as well as had a great sense of humor and companionship.

It’s been a childhood dream to see Orangutans in their natural habitat. A huge thanks to Jakha (Jake) and his team - a truly exceptional guide who brought the experience to life with his humour, knowledge, kindness and above all his love and respect for the forest. The hiking was brilliant (bring decent shoes!), food was delicious and our camp picturesque, cosy and overlooking a stream… and then there was the unmissable tube rafting on our final day. It’s details like this that make an experience and Jakha should be proud of his excellent work (26 years old with 7 years experience under his belt says it all!) Of course, seeing Orangutans is magical and unforgettable in itself - BUT make sure you get a good, qualified guide who leads by example, respects nature and will become your ‘jungle brother’ :) If Jakha is available for your trek, count yourself lucky - he’s a legend 👍🏽

2 day Jungle Trekking with Jack (Jakha) was amazing! He is such a good guide, very knowledgeable, caring, fun and relaxed! This was absolutely te highlight of our Sumatra trip!

We did the three day jungle trek and was fortunate enough to get one of the best guides I’ve had in all my travels, Jak. We wish we could have done the five or six day but we were limited. This trek is everything you think a jungle trek will be. Up and down all day on the trails but it’s so worth it. We saw more new species than anticipated too! Jak is great at spotting all the animals of the jungle. On top of that, the food is amazing and you’ll always have access to more than enough.

Me and my boyfriend did the 2 day 1 night jungle trek. Jack was our tour guide and we couldn’t have asked more of him. He was so welcoming from the moment we arrived in Bukit Lawang and made our stay truly exceptional. He offered to carry our water on the trek, was very knowledgable about the wildlife, prepared delicious fruit and not to mention the food we had in the jungle. It was truly a feast and some of the first Indonesian food we tried giving us a taste of what delicious food is to come on our travels. We would love to come back and do a longer trek as we enjoyed it so much. I would recommend this company to everyone.

We did a 3 days 2 nights with Jakha and words can’t describe how crazy/amazing/unbelievable/once in a life time experience this was. Jakha made this trip extra special for us since he had soooo much knowledge about the jungle, the primates, the monkeys, the trees and plants. Our chef was a great cook. We had a feast every night ! Thank you for everything!

Our tour guide Jakha was excellent throughout our trek, spotting orangutans, monkeys & lizards, as well as showing us medicinal plants that the locals use in Sumatra. Excellent trek, and good fun to end with the rafting!

Made the one day trekking with the guides Jojo and Aldi. They were outstanding, always taking care of us and making us feel confortable. They explained us a lot of interesting things about the jungle and wildlife and ran us through the paths following animals. Food was also very tasteful and jungle taxi was pure fun!!!

Great agency, Jakha and his team took good care of us. The provided food is very delicious and to see the OrangUtans was amazing!

We did the 2 day 1 night tour of Bukit Lawang with Jakha (or Jake) and Aldi and it was absolutely incredible! Both were very fun, easy going guys, quick to smile and constantly joked about! More than that though Jakha was very knowledgeable, we could ask him anything and he will tell us, they both ensured that we had the best experience and found lots of orang utans, different types of monkeys and were quite close up too! Definitely worthwhile once in a lifetime experience and was an honor o be guided by such kind, friendly and knowledgable guides. Thank you both!

Had an amazing 8-day trip with Bukit Lawang Adventure. During the whole week, the tourguides helped out a lot and adjusted the tour according to our preferences and physical conditions. The food during the jungle trip was the best food I've had in Indonesia in the last 3 months. The price was nice as well.

We had the most incredible three days with Bukit Lawang Adventures. Our guides were knowledgable, funny, and professional. They made the experience as great as it was by keeping us comfortable, bringing us to awesome spots, and showing us how to admire the animals we encountered. The food was delicious and sleeping was comfortable even during rainy season. We saw nearly a dozen orangutans and so many other animals!

Professional, friendly staff with a great sense of humour! I loved every minute of my two day Bukit Lawang Jungle Trek back in October. We saw so many different species of primate and so many Orangutans. Its an experience I will never forget. Spending the night in the jungle was incredible and the camp was in such beautiful settings, alongside the river. I loved seeing a monitor lizard swimming around and getting in and having a swim myself after a day of trekking was so refreshing. Also, so much fresh fruit and rice was prepared for us and presented so beautifully! I hadn't expected this so it was an added bonus! I couldn't fault a moment of this trip... even when joined by an entire family of monkeys that didnt understand privacy whilst I was using the jungletoilet/concrete hole. It was all just incredible!

What a great experience with Bukit Lawang Adventure! We did a 2 day, one night trekking and thanks to our knowledgeable guide we felt safe at all times. We saw about 15 different urang utans and lots of other animals too, and we were given interesting information about them. The food was amazing and waking up next to the river in the jungle was a once in a lifetime experience! 5/5 stars!

My wife and I had an incredible experience on the 3 day / 2 night tour with Bukit Lawang Adventure. We had high hopes and they were far surpassed. Our two main guides Coco and Andy were wonderful and Jorlan (I apologize if I spelled that wrong) our chef and support brother, was also great. Great food, very informational and fun tour. Would highly recommend and we hope to come back for a 5-day :).

Jungle trekking with Bukit Lawang adventures is amazing! We arrived by bus and Nicco was there already waiting for us to bring us to our accomodation. Then he explained everything you need to know to prepare yourself for the jungle.

We went for 3 days 2 nights. We saw loads of animals and of course the Orangutang. The food is amazing and the kamps are nice. The first night was a bit difficult sleepy in the jungle but the second night was much better. Our guide Ricky was nice and patience plus made enough stops.

If you want a nice time in Bukit Lawang come to Nicco!!

Booked a 3 days 2 nights jungle trek with Nicco and it was simple AMAZING!

From the moment we arrived at the bus station in Bukit we where warmly welcomed by Nicco's smile on his motorbike. He drove us to our guesthouse and after we settled in Nicco explained everything we could expect from the upcoming trekking. From this day till the day we left, Nicco made us feel very welcome and was prepared to help us with everything all of our questions.

During the first day we already encountered a lot of orangutans, both wild and semi-wild, which is truly breathtaking to see these primates up close. The guide had great knowledge about the jungle and really looked after his group, by frequently taking water breaks. Our guides (Rikki & Bob) prepared a great jungle lunch, including nasi goreng and lots of fruits. The first day will lead you to a small jungle camp close to a little river where you can relax and swim after a long day of trekking through the jungle. They serve a delicious dinner at night and you can enjoy some fresh ginger tea, biscuits and peanuts around the campfire.

The second day we walked upstream to a small waterfall, where we took a refreshing shower and continued our trek up the mountain. The second day was a bit more intense, compared to the first day, since you'll go up some more hills and mountains. But, nevertheless, a very beautiful hike through dense jungle. We enjoyed a nice little lunch a a small riverbank, again lots of fruit and some great noodles. After enjoying a great view from the top of the hill, a steep downhill path leaded us to our last camp. Which is at the riverbank of same river flowing through Bukit Lawang. We had lovely evening here and the assistant guide, Robin took care of the necessary entertainment after dinner. In the morning he brought us to small multi-level waterfall close to the camp, before the other groups went there, so we could be there by ourself. Before leaving the camp by rafting back to Bukit Lawang we had the pleasure of two orangutans visiting our camp.

The jungle trek organized by Bukit Lawang Adventure was simply great and very professional. I would definitely recommend to book your jungle tour with them.

Amazing adventure in the jungle and very professional organisation in Bukit Lawang. Spent 5 memorable days in the wild with Ricky and his crew - friendly and helpful at all times, serving us delicious meals and guiding through incredible Sumatran landscapes. I would recommend to anyone!
