Munroe Eco Camp

This place literally has my heart. It was so nice , we had been there this December it was just me and my friend staying at the property . The staff had made us feel safe and comfortable to be our own self. It left like a much needed break from the chaos. We regret not staying there longer. The owner even though we was not in town had called us made sure we were taking the right bus, auto and everything such a generous man he was. Also Amal who had arranged everything for us. I have been recommend this place to everyone I know. Even for girls who are travelling alone this place and ppl here got you.

Beautiful island. Feels very good. Staff are very helpful and cordial. Good food. The rooms and the view from the room is surreal.

Vini's Farm is the kind of vacation you need when you are looking to disconnect - the island is all yours and has ample space for you to take walks and spend time in nature. There are chickens, ducks, turkeys, cats, and birds freely moving about all around you. The staff will ensure there is one surprise after the other to delight you. The boat ride was almost 2 hours long and took us through the entire village via waterways. Vini's Farm is the kind of place that will make you forget of the world outside. Mathew and the rest of the staff left no stone unturned in ensuring that I had the best food and experience throughout. He even checked on me long after I left. He called us to know Ihad reached my next destination and if Iwere doing Ok. It was an absolute delight to be taken care by such kind and friendly people in a place so, so beautiful!!! ❤❤❤

I did a solo trip and those who insist come by train or bus, then please make sure the timings of the mode of travel. Certain information provided on IRCTC or Ksrtc are not absolutely correct.. Most of the trains are local ones, hence it stops over all stations. I travelled from Ernakulam by train and I found only one train that can be booked and remaining all passenger trains can be booked from the respective stations you travel. Guruvayur- Trivandrum express has online seat bookings available. It's 2nd sitting and Ac chair car booking. Once you reach Munroethuruthu station, you need to catch an autorickshaw and travel 4kms towards Munroe Eco camp. This place has a speed boat available and they will take you to the Vini's farm which is a part of this eco camp. The rickshaw would charge you 60-70rs.

You can contact Mr. Jose ( Care taker ) or Mr. Mathew ( Manager ). All the details including location will be shared through Whatsapp. Second point to be noted is those who smoke or drink they can purchase whatever is required from Munroethuruthu town itself which is just besides the railway station itself because once you reach the island then there are no roadways. Else if u want anything only point of contact is the care taker. But, it might take usual time than expected because they need to cross the island. Please do backup whatever you need. There isn't wifi at this place because it's nature driven. . 4G is available specially for Airtel and Jio.

Entertainment includes card games, cricket, carroms, fishing, boating. Boating is if its a boat that uses fuel its comes upto 2300 to 2500rs. If its a normal one it's 1200rs. Normal ones will take you inside the rural areas and you can explore the nature around. Fuelled boat doesn't take you inside and it would be a normal island tour. This is during of season but during actual seasons am not aware of the rates.

Rooms are like there are 2 types,: Normal Ac room ( 1 ), then suit type room like honeymoon type rooms ( 2) and then tents are available. I did a tent stay and if the weather is good it's worth a stay specially for solo travellers. I booked it for 2300rs( including breakfast and dinner ). Ac room is 2800rs ( only breakfast inclusive ) and the honeymoon suit rooms that's like 2 rooms together and upto 5 Pax. If you are coming as a group upto 5pax it's 3600 per head that is total 18000 and if more Pax added then they might charge a bit more. And the entire island belongs to you... This includes breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner..

Food is amazing and awesome tastes. Am not writing much about it since it's better to experience.. Sea food is the main and you can give your choice of food. They prepare it for you accordingly.

Overall just for the nature, love, peace of mind this place is recommended... ❤❤❤❤❤❤

We had a wonderful stay. The hospitality was great. This island is a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle. Our 5 year old kid enjoyed the ambience and wants to come back here sometime.

It’s a beautiful and quiete place in the backwaters close to Kollam.
The owners are really helpful and try to make your stay as comfortable as possible from the first minute. They already helped us a lot to finde our way.
We stayed in tents which are directly on the water. It‘s a perfect place to chill and hang out with your partner, friends or just by yourself!
They cook great food with ingredients from their own garden- so you can just stay there and take a break from the rest of the world.
If i‘ll Come back to Kerala i‘ll Definitely go back to that place (although it‘s not the perfect deal for budget-travelers).
I hardly recommend this place and wish the owners the very best with their great farm-project!

Where do i start? Everything is excellent here. A perfect island to spend your time with friends, family or solo. They have place for all kind of travellers. The care takers here are excellennt especially Ashokan Chetta (how a single man slowly developed a barren island into a paradise) . The chef cooks the excellent food be it South Indian or North indian. The owner Mr. Paul sir is very kind. Budget wise no complaint you will get more than what you pay for. Their package includes kayaking and fishing too ( you can customize your package get in touch with Paul Sir). I feel very bad leaving the island after 3 dyas. Their hospitality is top notch. Their service is mind blowing. Their location is Exteadinoary. The nearest railway station is sasthamkotta or kollam from where u can take a auto to reach the pickup point. Will keep coming again and again for sure. Till the ciao 😍

A very nice place where the nature gives a peaceful and blowing mind to one and all who visit the place. It is an island where we need to go by boat. Boating, Rafting in lake, Swimming in River, Village visit by local boat, Barbeque, Games etc are the main attractions.
We were Two couples had a memorable weekend at this place.

The right place for a weekend getaway. Calm and serene.. affordable too. The hosts are really helpful and friendly. The stay was safe and comfortable with clean and hygienic facilities. Whether you are a local tourist or a foreigner.. this place is a must see!

Beautiful island camp in Munroe island with spectacular view of Ashtamudi lake. Can enjoy beautiful view of sunset and sunrise. We had a great time there.

Stayed here during Diwali 2019. Munroe island is a secluded piece of gem in gods own country. Surprisingly you can reach here by a train from kochi.

Must go atleast once .. a place with lots of activities like bbq night, kayaking , fishing etc...
