This large monolithic rock is sitting on the shore a few miles north of Hvammstangi. The rock isn’t visible from the road. Watch for the sign on the left side of the road, and the small parking area across the road on the right. It’s a pleasant, low-key activity to hike down to the shore to see the rock, and it offers great opportunities for some artsy photos.

The place is beautiful at sunset with the horses and the light house. However, as previously said by the other comments, you can only walk along the road, it's impossible to go down to see the rock and the beach

In October of 2021 access has been cut of from the road by a barbed wire fence for the horses. They haven't even taken down the "point of interest" sign across the street next to the parking lot. Very disappointed.

A waste of a drive... except the beautiful views.

The landowner has blocked the path with wired fence and out horses on it.
