Gestinn Guesthouse

Gestinn guesthouse is the ideal place to stay for your action packed adventure in Iceland. Clean warm and comfortable. The owners are very welcoming the staff are lovely. It's a simple guesthouse but that's ideal as you're probably not going to be spending a lot of time there. From the guesthouse it's just a short to most places and most importantly a 5 minute walk to bustop 8 the pick up point for many of the tours/excursions. Would I go back .....oh yeah.

A very nice, homey and comfortable stay. Couldn't hear neighbors in other rooms at all, no back-log at the shared bathrooms, quiet neighborhood so no street noise at night, less than 5 minutes to Hallgrimskirkja and within 15-20 to most other sites in the city. Great location and nice staff!

I can't express what a lovely time we had. The owner was so nice and friendly, and even took the time to sit down to just talk to my friend and I. We are on the younger side when it comes to people traveling alone and it was nice just to have someone act friendly. She even put us in a larger room when she saw how long we would be staying. The apartment its self was amazing and comfortable.

Excellent location, everything was clean a comfortable.

The breakfast is crazy good! Thank you Claudia for being so welcoming a nice, the food was great!

As in most places in Reykjavik, the hot water is geo-thermal and has a sulfuric scent. Get used to it 😜

Great location for exploring Reykjavík on foot, with easy parking across the street if you do have a car. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. We stayed in the apartment and the kitchen had all the utensils and appliances to cook and prepare our meals. Would recommend it!

The rooms, facilities, and breakfast were all lovely. The location is very convenient for sightseeing walks around Reykjavik, only a short distance from the Hallgrimskirkja and many great restaurants. The check in and out were painless and the staff very helpful. Stayed 3 nights altogether in two separate stints on arrival and on departure - both experiences were most positive.

This is a great little guest house, The staff are warm and welcoming and often I found myself standing in the halls having a casual chat with my hosts, who were also more than happy to tell me which were the best spots in the city to visit (sights, bars and restaurants) and they also helped me to arrange a couple of my tours.

The rooms are basic but are kept to a good standard and the breakfast facilities were also good. The building is located on a quiet little street roughly 13 minute walk to the high street with a few shops and local restaurants nearby so handy if you are on a late tour and want a quick meal later in the evening. This is also one of the main pick up points for the tour operators working in Iceland and so pickup and drop off from the various tours is handily right on your doorstep.

If I ever go back to stay in Reykjavik then I would be quite happy to book again at this hostel and would recommend them to anyone visiting the city.

Very cozy little guesthouse, super central location in the heart of Reykjavik with tons of bars and restaurants in 5-10 min walking distance, the Hallgrímskirkja is just down the road and so is the Airport Shuttle (both 5-10 min walk). Cozy beds, good showers and super friendly staff on top!

Fantastic place to stay, rooms were spacious and clean. Claudia is a wonderful person who looks after the place and very heloful if you need any help.

Cheap accommodation very close to the city centre of Reykjavik. The staff was very welcoming and the room was nice and clean. Very good breakfast with a cozy atmosphere.

Got a not so great room. Light and noise from the street kept me awake. Got another room instantly. Very cozy place and great staff.

We arrived late at night and the treat was excellent. We had a very pleasant night and a simple but awesome breakfast to start the day. Highly reccommended
