We had a fabulous experience at this hotel, and would recommend this in a heartbeat to anyone staying near this area.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with a unique and luxurious design. It's quiet and peaceful. The staff is fantastic. We felt we had made friends by the end of our stay.

Breakfast was amazing, and we also enjoyed lunch and dinner on multiple occasions. All the food we tried was delicious, and service was fantastic.

We also had a 2-year old with us, and although this hotel feels like it's just meant for adults (luxurious, peaceful), the staff warmly welcomed our daughter, always trying to find little ways to speak to her and make her stay special too.

They also host events, and there were two events while we stayed. I was curious if the events would be loud, or cause much of an inconvenience to hotel guests, but this was not the case at all. Staff was still fully present to help hotel guests, and the noise level was low.

Make the right choice and stay here!

What an absolutely amazing experience. Wonderful rooms, amazing staff, beautiful area, and some of the greatest food I have ever tasted. Stayed in the Lavanda Suite which was beautiful and comfortable.

If you stay at San Giuliano, make sure you try their tasting menu! A great experience.

As someone who travels both professionally and personally quite a bit, our stay at Relais San Giuliano was outstanding. The service was better than anywhere I have ever been, with each staff member looking after every detail. We ate at the bistro twice and it was great. Get the parmigiana if it is on the menu, out of this world. We also did a couples massage which was reasonably priced and good. We have already discussed coming back. Also, the location is perfect 45 minutes or less from Taormina, Catania, and Etna base camp. If you don’t want the hustle and bustle of a city like Catania, or the beautiful yet touristy streets of Taormina but want a tranquil place to relax in the Etna region this is the place. Looking forward to coming back.

I cannot speak highly enough about this place. From the moment we walked in- it was incredible. The reception was incredibly helpful. I wish I got her name, but she went above and beyond in trying to find reservations at wineries for us. The property was impeccable. The included breakfast was BEAUTIFUL. The lighting around the property at night was dreamy. Everything was quiet and tranquil and just pure luxury. I hope I can come back at some point-- I loved my stay here.

My husband, myself, and my adult daughter had an amazing stay. We were in Sicily to trace some family roots. The staff was very helpful in helping us connect with officials in the village my daughter's relatives were from. They went above and beyond in helping us translate. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was amazing and helpful in every way helping us to find great restaurants when we took side trips. From the maids who cleaned our room, to the office staff, to the restaurant personal everyone was friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful hotel, very private and luxurious. The staff is very accommodating and wonderful. We arrived and had a bite to eat in their bistro and the food was exceptional. The wine and arancino was amazing!

Hotel was wonderful - rooms spacious and clean, restaurant lovely, breakfast great. I think there are approximately 15 rooms which makes sure that the area never feels crowded. The real highligh was also the hotel / restaurant staff who went to great lengths to make us feel welcome and made our stay something to remember. Wee booked a standard room and were upgraded to a deluxe suite without asking. Would greatly recommend this hotel to anybody travelling to Sicily.

The only possible downside might be that the surrounding town is very local and doesn't have much to offer in terms of tourism / restaurants. This was no problem for us as we had a rental car (and the hotel has a parking garage).

Exactly as in the pictures, well designed Relais with spacious hotel room and calming pool area. The restaurant was absolutely worth trying and the service was always friendly. We also enjoyed the spa very much, which we booked for an hour and were allowed to stay even longer than that, as well as the professionell relaxing massage. We stayed three nights and really enjoyed every moment.

If heaven had a place on earth, it would be this place!! We had a very nice stay en definitely will come back some day. The restaurant, the breakfast, the pool and the beautiful rooms: all perfect. Best way to end our Sicily trip! Beautiful hotel with attentive and very friendly staff. Quality service and facilities, with a very stylish design. We used the pool, restaurant, bar, sauna and booked an Ayurvedic massage by Nelo which was AMAZING. Restaurant food was pretty good and convenient to eat at, cost was not too expensive either for the service. Location was relatively close to Catania, which we wanted and parking garage was easy. I only wish that the sauna was open / had free usage vs. having to pay 35 EUR for a private hour, but other than that everything was great, would reccomend. :)

Everything was perfect, we stayed in this beautiful hotel for 5 nights and we were treated as friends. It is a smaller team of hard working, professional and kind staff members and they are interested in you as a person. This makes the difference for your stay. You feel welcome as the gate is opened for you, you and your luggage are picked up at the garage with a friendly face and then you will see the beautiful place that you are staying at, with eye for detail, spacious rooms, a relaxing pool with a good water temperature, a terras, living room, some lawn fields to relax on, good wifi, delicious food from the restaurant and for breakfast, etc. We were there with our teenage son, but there were also younger children, you do not feel lost like in a huge resort. They gave good advise on restaurants and tips for activities in the area like the Etna. There are many 5 star hotels, but the personal attention and eye for detail make it to be a 5 star experience.

The villa has been recently renewed and they have done a great job, the room was amazing and the garden as well is great if you want to relax. Breakfast was all home made and very good, the restaurant looked as well good but had no time to try it.
We chose this place as we did not want to stay in Catania city center and also come where close to the highway to visit the surroundings.
Would definitely advise this hotel if you look for a beautiful, design hotel where to relax!

Very nice place to stay, we had an excellent time. The rooms are spacious and very clean, the restaurant is excellent and the garden and main house are beautiful. Staff really interested and helpfull, special thanks to them because they helped with finding our luggage which was lost at the airport. We will certainly come back!

Our stay at Relais San Giuliano was absolutely outstanding. It is perfectly located in the beautiful village of Viagrande. From here we made wonderful trips to Catania, Taormina and the surroundings of Etna. Helpful, friendly staff who go above and beyond to make sure you have the best time. Special thanks to the director Valentina, who was caring about our needs in the best way possible. The hotel is very atmospheric and renovated in a amazing stylish way. We travel often to Italy but this was one of our most remarkable times. We will definetely come back.

Amazing place to stay - really unlike anywhere else. The property is more like a luxurious upscale guest house than a hotel.

Comprised of several old vineyard buildings set in a beautiful garden, it is very quiet with only a dozen rooms, it feels like an oasis away from the slightly ‘full on’ Sicilian cities. There are several communal spaces - balconies, lounges and areas which you are free to use and read a book etc - they encourage you to feel at home!

Staff are super friendly and will do anything to help improve your stay.

Rooms are incredibly nice, even the most basic room which we requested was very comfortable and very high spec.

Breakfast fantastic, drinks at the bar were perfect and dinner was great also. Try the Negroni Sbagliato!

There is also a small spa, outdoor pool with sun loungers and underground parking.

We highly recommend organising a tasting at the vineyard just across the road from the main car entrance.

Location we found adequate as it is at the foothills of Etna, 30 minute drive from Catania, 20 minutes drive from Acireale for restaurants and bars. The local town of Viagrande is very small with limited restaurants but we were happy to drive around.

Had an amazing time with my friends! From the morning delicious breakfast to the afternoon spa service and the dinner time ! The place is full of heritage and history ! Loved the trip to the Butterfly house recommend by one of the staff.
I would definitely go again soon . Sicily is the best.

on of the most magical places in all Sicily, I cannot recommend it enough. Every little thing about this boutique hotel is exquisite, the setting, the decor, and most of all the food, the chef there creates gastronomical masterpieces. I cannot wait to go back.

My wife and I got married at the Relais San Giuliano in September 2023. We were guests of the Relais in 2021 and fell in love with it. The lovely atmosphere, the staff and the quality of the food made us pick this location to celebrate the most important day of our lives.
I must say, it was an absolutely unforgettable experience.

We reserved the hotel for a two-night stay (Friday and Saturday), surrounded by our closest friends and family. From start to finish, it was nothing short of amazing.

Based on our previous experience as guests, we had high expectations. But Enrico and the team managed to beat them, by far. The food, service, rooms and amenities were just perfect. Their attention to detail is just incredible. The team is always there for you, but without ever being intrusive. All of our guests were astonished.

And the location...it's hard to find the right words to describe it. Relais San Giuliano is a hidden gem -- a fusion of traditional Sicilian aesthetics and contemporary luxury. The stunning pool area was an oasis of relaxation for us and our guests the day after the wedding.

This beautifully restored old villa was balm, away from the sprawl of catania but close to Etna and Taormina. Very comfortable rooms and gardens, a superb restaurant and lovely staff. We stayed in the New Year so didn't use the pool which would have made the stay even more fabulous. However, I do recommendd visiting out of season as we avoided the summer crush.

Beautiful boutique hotel sorrounded by nature at the bottom of volcano Mount Etna. Charming and relaxing mood. Awesome food! The SPA and the outside swimming pool make this place perfect to stay in Sicily.
