Yerba Buena Guest Cabins

Wow this place. We came here not really knowing the beautiful Oasis that it is. We thought it was just affordable coastal cabins but it was so much more. There are several small rustic cabins set on private property that houses incredible plants, ocean views and a private bay with clear waters. This is run by a beautiful, warm and welcoming family. When you arrive this is made very clear as it has the typical open air vibe of Jamaica. We thought maybe we had the wrong place because of its hidden quality and open air main cabin! On our arrival we were Immediately offered fresh honey comb from their bee farm (best honey I've ever tested!) And delicious watermelon. Agape is the matriach of this family and she has the warmest and most welcoming heart. She opened her home to us and taught us more of the peaceful life she had with her family. Her husband and six boys were so sweet and I appreciated their offering up their home for us to experience too. Not only is it for vacationers but They often host interns to teach their sustainable bee keeping and way of life, but are always happy to teach their guests some tips and tricks too! While you're there, you can enjoy their home cooked vegetarian meals made with an outdoor hearth and fresh local produce. We had an incredible wild sour dough bread that was unreal! There is electricity but harder to access wifi (this is most definitely not a problem I assure you.) You sleep in small cozy cabin that overlooks the rocky cliff. You are surrounded by banana and mango trees. This is a more structured and organized camping in a way. Very little distractions from nature. Talking with agape with the highlight of our entire stay but the environment was equally incredible. There are plenty of hikes around to visit local waterfalls, river pools and many beautiful unspoiled beaches. The locals are friendly as well. What an incredible experience and one that you will not regret should you select this place for yourself. Try One night and you won't want to leave.

Staying with Kwao and Agape at Yerba Buena was the best decision we could make when booking our trip to Jamaica. We wanted to experience real Jamaican life, and I truly believe our experience was well beyond what we could've gotten at an all-inclusive. During our 9-night stay, we were able to slow down from our everyday life, relax, and have some amazing experiences in the village and around the island, all on our own time.

Agape and Kwao's passion for nature and sustainability is truly inspiring. Their home is a perfect tropical paradise with fruit trees, a small, secluded, beautiful blue beach, a nice sea breeze, and hammocks to lie in and read on lazy afternoons. I have rarely gotten as good sleep as I did in the top cabin, listening to the sounds of nature and the sea.

Agape was very attentive in our care and in scheduling anything we wanted to do. On our first day, she prepared for my fiancee a ginger and guava tea for her nausea, and after a few cups she felt great for the rest of the trip. When we told her we had forgotten toothpaste, she taught us how to make a tooth powder from a natural calcium rock and essential oils. Agape and Kwao also prepared delicious vegan meals and introduced us to many new fruits and flavors. It felt great coming home healthier than when we left.

Agape also arranged our excursions from the village. Jimmy picked us up from the airport and safely drove us across the island, including trips to the James Dennis Coffee Farm in the Blue Mountains, Boston Bay to eat jerk, and the Winnifred public beach in Portland.

Within the village, we met many amazing people and had a blast playing cards and chess and going on walks with Kwao and Agape's wonderful sons. Go next door to Strawberry Fields Together and try their fried chicken or pizza and swim at their beach. Go to bars and shops in the village for a Red Stripe, coffee, fish, or chicken. Peruse the handicraft of the local artisans. Go on the hike to a secluded waterfall with Doggy. It's absolutely worth it. We can't wait to go back.

Great view, right on the sea side. Rustic and authentic, but with modern facilities. Great place to spend time with family and friends. Phone data signal comes and goes...I guess depending on your device and carrier, but otherwise it was a day well spent for us.

Nice space and area the road leading there is kinda rough especially when u get closer but the views are breathtaking and the scenery on the and surrounding areas makes this spot a must visit just to experience and say u have been here.
