Lovely views in Naejangsan park. Not too many foreign tourists here. Autumn scenery is beautiful, but is best at peak season. It’s now slightly early

Was a beautiful sight the park is right now covered in snow. If you have kids, i recommend you bring them and build a snowman among all the others you will find along the pathway. Great place for a snowball fight and it's truly a serene beautiful atmosphere. The snow absorbs so much sound that you would feel as if you are in the mountains in the middle of nowhere away from civilization.

Naejangsan National Park is one of South Korea most famous national parks and can be reached from two main directions (North or South), both of which involves taking a public bus or tour bus from Jeongeup (井邑).

Where is the first place you should ask about buses to Naejangsan National Park. How do they run and where is the bus stop etc.? Officially you can ask the Tourist information Office (井邑综合旅游咨询中心)which is situated on the southeast side facing towards the town outside Jeongup Railway Station, on the ground floor, towards the "left" whilst you are facing south, coming out of the station entrance. Most people in Jeongup should know where is this tourist information office? It is a large shop that also sell souvenirs like wine, and dried fruits etc.

The northern entrance trip (bus no.171) to the Naejangsan park, takes one direct to the bus stop closest to main park entrance and costs only KRW1500! And this journey takes about 35 mins only but the bus was a bit crowded so be warned, bus may not have enough seating. But once you get off the bus, there is still a long walk of about 45 mins to the main northern entrance. Try to travel light with maybe only a light rucksack. You’ll probably need a scarf and something to keep warm, sunglasses etc.

For the southern entrance route, you need to take a public tour bus to the Baegyangsa(白羊寺) entrance, which you can buy from the tour buses depot/terminal in Jeongeup. Ask the tourist information service where this bus depot is relative to your hotel in Jeongup. Costs is again relatively cheap compared to other private transport to the park.

Much of my intention was to look at or appreciate autumn leaves and general sight seeing, so there was no real time pressure. We try to get on the buses in the early morning after breakfast and take the late afternoon bus back. It's that simple.

You must carry some water there as the long walk will usually make people thirsty, but there is always light snacks and coffee shops near each entrance of the park.

Oh try to avoid the weekends when traveling to such public places because in Korea there tends to be too many people and less queuing happens I suppose on weekdays.
