One of the most famous, historical churches in Kalutara District. Church dedicated to Queen of Assumption and celebrates feast on 15th August every year. Famous sri Lankan singer Mervin Perera belonged to this church and he composed hymns for the church feast in early 20s. Church has 150 years old statues. Church is one of the three churches of Payagala Parish. Most of the Church community devotees are fishermans.
