Izakaya AKIMOMI Mandalay Branch

I love the design and the decorations of the Izakaya but I didn't expect much for the food but it definitely proved me wrong! The service was excellent and the value was just the right amount for me. This might be my new favorite Izakaya!

Fantastic izakaya experience, best Japanese in Mandalay. Owner speaks Japanese and lived therw for years. Authentic vibe. Veggie options, just ask. Plenty of authentic izakaya dishes like asparagus bacon for meat eaters. Legit. They can't source Japanese beers right now due to restrictions, but they keep Heineken et al ready to go. Their sake selection looks pretty impressive too. Private booths available. Please go and give them a try! Their hotel in Maymyo is equally authentic and pleasant to go to. Enjoy!

Love how the staffs and chefs are kind and friendly. The way they welcomed us as soon as we took a step inside the Izakaya, it just made me so happy and got a 100% Japan vibe. Couldn't ask for a better Izakaya!

The best Japanese Izakaya I've seen so far in Myanmar

The place has been famous for its food and I had to give it a go. It was as great as I expected to be. The chicken skin satay they recommended was surprisingly really delicious, I had 3 portions for myself.

미얀마 특성상 진짜 일식스러운 일식은 아니다. 생선의 질감이 많이 좋진 않지만 미얀마에서 이정도면 아주훌륭한 수준이다. 룸에서 간단하게 식사를 했는데 메뉴 나오는 속도와 일하시는 분의 서빙 속도가 너무 빠르고 매우 친절하다. 메뉴에 없는 음식도 해주시고 맛있었다. 미얀마에서 일식먹은거 중에 제일 괜찮았음. 이가게는 사실 핀우린에도 있다. 주인이같은분 같고 메뉴도 비슷하다. 하지만 핀우린에서는 안되는 메뉴가 있기에 이곳에서 먹었는데 후식도 주시고 계산하고 나가는데 너무친절하게 일어와 한국어로 인사해 주셨다. 뭔가 대접받는 느낌이 들어 기분이 좋았다^^

何回も行きたい気分。

The slices of salmon were too thin and the meat felt very cold while eating. I believe the saury would taste better if it were grilled more fragrantly. However, the sake was quite good and tasted great. I hope the owner will put more thought into the food.

But suggest to improve the food quality. Chicken guzzard satay is undercooked, resulting a strange smell.

The drinks at the restaurant are EXPIRED and they just kept selling them.
When we told them about that they refused with a reason that it was okay because it was still 6 HOURS AWAY FROM THE EXACT EXPIRED DATE PRINTED ON THE CAN…
