I can say that I am a regular customer at Marc et Farid. They served very good desserts. If you managed to go to their shop, you must try their quiches too. It’s very tasty!

My most favourite is their absolute chocolate and cannelés. Chocolate opera is also nice and also their tarts 😩 ALL are good actually😅 you should really try your self.

Their location is behind twentyfive.7 show gallery. Opposite the lake.

A small French-themed patisserie offering a small menu with high turnover. Some might question the menu, but if you understand fine dessert, you'd realise it means the pastry chef pays more attention on each piece. Looking at the fruit tarts, the way those raspberries are laid down looking effortlessly effortful - what a beauty. You cannot compare this quaint shop to the likes of Secret Recipe or other cafés as that'd be like comparing apples to oranges. This is in a different class. Small and impressive restraint packing a punch full of flavours

We had canelé, lemon tart, opera cake, Absolute Chocolate cake, and black coffee

Canelé - Never tried one before so I only know what I read. I guess the shell was done right but there's a big air pocket in ours and there's no custard-like inside. I wonder if it is meant to be like that but I like the subtle sweetness that comes with it. I will do more research and eat more canelés from elsewhere!

The opera cake - the chocolate ganache layer was intense and sweet, further amplified by coffee syrup soaking its beautiful Joconde sponge. Such strong flavours from chocolate and espresso were backed up by coffee tasting buttercream that made the cake a whole. This isn't a cake for those with light palate but I loved it!

Absolute Chocolate cake - a layer of dense sweet moist chocolate cake layered with subtly sweet chocolate mousse-like layer and coated with bitter and soft dark chocolate ganache with a layer of crunchy stuff (have no idea what it was) - each layer complimenting one and another - a bite of heavenly goodness any chocolate fan should try!

Lemon tart - Although I am not a fan of citrus family but I do appreciate its flavours. The lemon curd is so beautifully tart and the scent of lemon played on the palate pleasantly, carried by a beautiful buttery and very short tart shell

The coffee - Just a plain machine made coffee served with what I think is a pistachio sablé. Short crumbly not your everyday pistachio biscuit, who cares about the coffee really? I came for desserts!

The place is very small with limited seatings so expect to either not get a place and have your food packed, or just come early. If you're lucky enough to get a a table indoor, every spot is Instagrammable

Undoubtedly worth driving all the way from Negri Sembilan!

Updated 04/06/2021 - A week ago went here again and got myself summer berries tart - Beautifully baked tart shell not soggy at all, savoury, with fresh (not bruised at all) raspberries and blackberries on a bed of light chantilly cream - beautiful and calory-worthy as usual

Updated 24/08/2021 - Had chocolate praline tart for my birthday. If you think Ferrero Rocher is good, you need to taste this. It is at least 3-4folds better!

I visited Marc et Farid to get some french pastries for my sister-in-law's birthday... Usually I ordered their delicious dessert through whatsapp. This time I decided to give their pastry shop a visit. It was quaint with only 6 seatings indoor and some seatings outside, facing the lake. I was greeted cheerfully by two young ladies who were handling the counter. I was unsure of which one to get because they all looked yummy. Both ladies were very patient with my indecisiveness. They gave me some good recommendations which helped me to decide. At the end i got 8 different types and one serving of their chicken pie...(The cafe only accept cashless payment but accept cash if you have the exact change). Would continue to order Marc et Farid's decadent desserts... insyaAllah!

Farid puts great detail and passion into all his creations. My favourite would be the Palmier - very buttery and flakey. It's just awesome. Love his Opera Cake, absolute chocolate and mille feulle too. The cafe is a bit secluded but it's worth the trip!! Enjoy French cakes and pastries without having to go to Paris.

Perfecto 👌🏻
Although the price is pricey but the food is so good that I couldn’t resist. However, the place is so far from everywhere & also, quite small.

A french expatriate here. I finally found a real place for eating french pastries. A remarquable Café and pastry shop.Feels really like in Paris. Lovely place, delicious high standard pastries, and I always feel welcome. Now they are shy of showing you what the different things are but this is very similar to Paris shop. It does not mean that you should be shy to ask. They are very obliging. It might sound a bit pricey, but believe me, its worth it. Obviously they use the best french ingredients. You will have a good time there.

Had the chocolate cake and the pear chocolate cake. Both we absolutely lovely although they were a little small in size. I wasn't too impressed with the lemon madeline. Will definitely come back to try out their other stuff

Ordered the assorted tartlets and Paris brest hazelnut via beepit. It was so so good. It might be on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. Realy good pastries. Definitely would try to get to the physical outlet next time.

Dessert to die for! Slightly pricey but worth to try. The only problem is the desserts are so pretty, it will break your heart to put your spoon through them.
