Telegraph Museum, Taiping

A must visit place in Taiping. Friendly staff. Although the museum a bit small, yet very informative. As of December 2023, the admission is free, but they might charge fee in the future

If you are coming from the main road, notice the building is the one behind, closer to the train exhibit, not the building close to the road.

Also parking was a bit confusing, you can park your car behind the restaurant nearby the museum

Very well preserved building. Everything telegraph in this building, very interesting collection and preservation of history. Extremely friendly staff. Entrance is free (although there were remains of old ticket prices).

A great place to dive in historical ambience. Nice props inside for you to take a bunch of photos too. Plus, you can learn something new btw. Most importantly it is free for entrance!

comfortable beautiful well kept museum . it have a deep history and impact on malaysia during the existence of telegraph.
take note entry is free only for the time being but it will cost rm15 in future for foreigners

went here 5 years ago 😂 love the museum, and there are a few other walkable places to visit nearby: ansari famous cendol, antong coffee factory, dataran warisan, clock tower.

Such an informative museum with earlier years type of communication tools on show. I brought my ever delighted with museum 2 daughters to this museum, they love to explore the tools on hand whilst non stop asking me whether those tools were during my time.....oh yes, most of them brought back memories😊

Museum well maintained and good history ,facts & info shared sokn need to pay. With current condition to maintain well deserved need to be charge

Underrated historical building.....true British vibes.....

A must visit place if you're in Taiping. This is definitely one of the best museum that we've visited. From the security guard that attended to us to our tour guide the service is just wonderful. The museum architecture and the artifacts is just superb. The surrounding area is immaculately maintained. Congratulations to Telekom Malaysia for an outstanding job in preserving a piece of our great history. Salute👍

This museum needs to be more well known! It's so nicely done: interesting and interactive exhibits even outside the museum, displays from the history of the telegraph to the telefax and beyond, and a trip down nostalgia lane from when Telekom first began as Post and Telegraph (P&T). There's also an impressive bookshelf upstairs reclaimed from an abandoned office, given new life here as the research library.

We were super lucky to meet Nadya, a manager from the Telekom Museum in KL who was on a work visit at the Telegraph Museum; her enthusiasm sharing stories with us and insightful explanations about all things telecom made a good visit a great one!

PS: find the 'hidden' wall of old red post boxes! Looks like still in use as some have letters inside.

A cute and informative museum in the middle of Taiping town.

This place is hidden in between Majlis Perbandaran Taiping museum and TM Taiping and behind Pos Malaysia.

A display of good information on the Telegraph history during the colonial era as well as the interesting related artefacts. Bring along your kids and family or even friends here.

Fee was FOC when we went last weekend.

Parking is rather limited, you can park by the roadside at the small parking area beside the Majlis Perbandaran Taiping Museum or the is a small lane in between Pos Malaysia and TM building.

one of a kind of muzium. collecting lots of telegraphic equipment and historical events. a must visit when coming to taiping.

Very well run with friendly efficient staff. An assortment of old telegraph and telephony equipment displayed here. Enjoyed the interactive sections and the history boards. You can even send a morse code message to someone’s email. The museum is so well-maintained. Ticket price only RM8. Highly recommended for a easy morning excursion. Best of all the museum is open EVERY day even on public holidays.

Very friendly staffs, well informed also. Although the space was small, it's very informative. Add on the explanation from staffs, you could learn new things. Tickets price is affordable and quite cheap for the facilities and services they offer. The space is clean. I just wish they had more options for souvenirs.

Very new and well maintained little museum. Not very big. Good for a quick tour.

A must to see in Taiping...Perak...really enjoying to see the old time telegram..old bike they which they use to deliver telegram..
