Freshly fried and quick turnover. Everything is still piping hot. There’s usually a queue but it moves fast. Cars simply wait by the roadside. Friendly uncles and aunties working there and are super efficient to fill the orders. Can even speak English. The Tee Kueh (niangao laminated with purple yam, battered and deep fried) is definitely the best. Not too sweet. The niangao inside is still gooey, the yam is fluffy and the batter is crispy - a textural sensation! Just love the combination. My favourite go-to for a scrumptious tea time snack.

📍Pisang Goreng @ Jalan Free School, Penang
This is legendary beyond measure.
When I went there, there wasn't any Pisang sadly. But the Tee Kuih is spot on delicious!
Crunchy beyond comprehension, with the layers of different types of potatoes, and the inner moist sweet layer.

Have this after eating in The Garden Banana Leaf - the perfect meal.

Must try fried stuff in Penang.

Their fried tee kiuh with yam is one of the signature.

Food: 5/5 fried tee kiuh, fried mung bean, fried banana and etc are great! Must try all

Price : 5/5 not too expensive

Location: easy to notice as you drive on Free School Road just look for vehicles park at the roadside. All of them are waiting for the food.

Must try!

You get some of Penang's best fried food items here, such as their curry puffs, "tee kueh" and "lek tau". The location is at the side of the road, underneath a tree, situated in close proximity to a round-about.

This makes the place hard to find parking if you are unfamiliar of this place. There are some places at the side of the road you can stop for awhile to get your delicious fried treats.

There is no place to dine-in, only takeaway your orders! There is a English menu written on a board somewhere for those who can only speak English. Also, it has been awhile since they sell Goreng Pisang, or fried bananas... I wonder if they still sell those....

Located along the sidewalk near Penang Free School (opposite Fat Monalisa), their fried mung bean kueh is the best❤ Crunchy outside, soft, glutinous but not sticky inside. And the taste of mung bean is so appealing. Their fried chinese rice cake also equally amazing. Combining sweet potato, yam and rice cake in between, coat with the liquid flour mix and go into the wok. So aromatic. They are also selling fried banana, fried sweet potato, and etc.

Normally sold out very fast. Try to be there when the stall just open, around 11am. Then you can skip the queue and get the fried foods fresh and hot. It's soothing to see the owner frying those kuehs in a humongous wok. People do park aside for a quick buy.

This is definitely one of the place to get Fried Sweet Potato and Ti Kueh Goreng. Sadly the name of this place called Free School Road Goreng Pisang but recently they seem to stop selling fried banana fritters due to lack of supply.

Nevertheless, just the sweet potato and Ti Kueh alone is already worth visiting and trying out. Most of the time the food is selling fast so you are kinda guaranteed to get it fried fresh out from the frying pan. And it is so so aromatic with the nice smell and the moment you sink your first bite, it is so heavenly with the crispy and crunchy skin. You really have to try the ti kueh, where it is sandwiched between a slice of yam and sweet potato. When I visited this stall recently, a customer from KL ordered second round within the same afternoon so she can dapao back to KL after eating it fresh. That speaks for itself how good this is... :)
