The Islamabad High Court (IHC) is the senior court of the Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan, with appellate jurisdiction over the following district courts:

Islamabad District Court (East)

Islamabad District Court (West)

The Court was originally established on 14 August 2007 by a Presidential Order but the Court ceased to exist on 31 July 2009 by a decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan following Constitution Petition No. 09 and 08 of 2009.

The Court was re-established by the Islamabad High Court Act, 2010 following the 18th Amendment to the Constitution of Pakistan. Then president Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath to the first Chief Justice, Iqbal Hameed ur Rahman on 3 January 2011 at the Governor's House, Karachi.

The Islamabad High Court is headed by a Chief Justice. The bench consists of six Justices and additional judges. The mandatory retirement age of the Chief Justice and Justices is 62 years.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) is one of the higher judiciaries in Pakistan and serves as the principal court for the federal capital, Islamabad. Established in 2010, the IHC has jurisdiction over the Islamabad Capital Territory and has the authority to hear and decide cases related to federal laws.

The court is housed in a modern building, and its jurisdiction extends to both civil and criminal matters. It serves as an appellate court for cases originating from subordinate courts in Islamabad and handles significant legal issues at the federal level.

The Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court is the head of the judiciary in the federal capital and plays a crucial role in overseeing the legal proceedings

I did my duty in Islamabad High Court. This is in good condition. There is large parking area in it. There is a library and a gem also.
Hotels are also nearby.

Many fields have been impacted by information technology, similarly Islamabad High court promotes justice and law enforcement with the help of Information Technology. I appreciate the work of IT. Islamabad High Court has launched its newly developed website, which is up to the international standards and based upon latest technology. New website is fully responsive and compatible with any type of screens.

I filed a habeas corpus case at the Islambad high court and after 1.5 year of persistent and continuous hearings Chief Justice Attar min Allah, Justice Gul hassan Aurangzeb and justice Mohsin Kiyani Brought my son back to Pakistan, May God bless the judges for serving me justice and not giving up.
