Lovely owner and chef. Both very interesting to talk to about the food, wine and all things Portuguese. Fantastic lunch for two: marinated olives, bread and sardine pâté, local speciality sausage and baked sea bream with all the trimmings, mango cheesecake, chocolate crepe, carafe of white wine, 2 pints of beer and 2 decaffeinated coffees. All for under €35. May have to prolong our stay at the campsite so that we can return!! No pics of food as too busy getting stuck in!

Charming Portuguese restaurant. Lovely intimate atmosphere. Efficient, attentive and friendly service. Good food. Great value.

Cracking lunch. Hake with orange and almonds was first class and the chocolate almond tart spot on. It was almost full when we left. Good service and reasonable prices.

We went here two consecutive nights. I wish we found this place earlier. The food is excellent, it is very reasonable and staff are top notch.

Best typical lunch

We have been to the Panda about 5 times within the month.Tonight we had tuna steak. EXCELLENT.Great food,generous portions,nice friendly waiter,great specials. Change specials daily.Typical Portugese.HIGHLY RECCOMEND.

Must be the best value restaurant in Alvor. Great service, relatively simple choice with outstanding fish.
Where else can you get a meal for two, coevert, a main course, coffee and two half litres of drinkable wine for under €30?

Very good food, probably the cheapest restaurant to eat in Alvor, the staff was really nice however a bit slow but if you don’t have to hurry anywhere this is the perfect place to eat. A menu gets you bread, olives a main dish and dessert (I’m not sure about coffee) totally would recommend to all my friends if they ever go to Alvor!!!

We last ate at Panda bar many moons ago and on our first visit to Alvor in three years we though we would go back.
Bit of a mix up with our booking but the owner sorted it out for us and found us a table despite being fully booked out for the evening.
We went with some of the choices off the menu of the day, wife had Grilled tuna Algarvian style, daughter had chicken fillets and I chose grilled pork. We were offered bread and olives with butter and cheese to start and a choice of 500ml red or white wine, small beer of a pop. We joined our wind together and had a litre of white which was very good, daughter opted for a Coke. The restaurant was packed so the food took a little while bug boy was it worth the wait, these Pandas serve big portions!
The mains demolished, all being fantastic we were offered a choice of deserts, many home made, the ladies opted to share a cheese cake while I scoffed a lovely custard tartlet, delicious!
Next up coffees, very nice.
As I said this was all off the Menu of the day and when the bill came we were astonished to see it all came to €41, for some of the best home cooked food we've ever had in Alvor!
Give them a go, the guys work so hard, it's well worth venturing out from the centre (they are on the main road out of town next to the new Golfland complex) about five minutes walk from the square.

What a hidden gem great little restaurant with fantastic food for a great price with menu changes every day. The service is first class and ever so friendly a really well run restaurant. Will definitely be back on our next visit to lovely Alvor. Fillet steaks were first class.

Excellent value. The waiter spoke good English and the garlic carrots are an experience not to be missed.
