Great little restaurant in Tomar. The food was really nice - all freshly cooked. The highlight was the owner/host - so friendly and welcoming. He gave us recommendations of where to visit for the short time we had there - really helful advice. We were there early for lunch - by the time we lleft it was packed with locals. It was also close to Christmas - and the owner insisted we try a local Cjristmas dessert before we leave - at no cost. So generous and kind! Great value, great food and superb host!

A gem of a place with the most attentive and friendly host you would ever meet. Simple food but yummy. Their bird chorizo is the best. The 4 of us ate there for under 30 €.
He will even give you helpful tips for things to do in the city. Super helpful and was a pleasure to be there.

Delicious food, plenty of Portuguese food. I was served soup in 2min and the main dish right after I was done with my soup. Very friendly service and a cozy dining area. Also: cheap :)

Delightful experience and delicious homemade food. I let the owner suggest something for me and it was nicely done pork with vegetables and roasted potatoes. Local specialty dessert that I never caught the name of but ate every bite.

If you are looking for exceptional traditional Portuguese food this is the place for you. Beyond the great food the service is warm and friendly. Highly recommend!!!

Do you see these empty plates? It’s because we ate every single bit of these tasty portuguese dishes!!! The owner was the best and also showed us where to go around the town!! Best experience if you’re looking to have a local experience! Can’t wait to come back!

This was a great place in Tomar. Great food at a fair price! They made me feel right at home coming off the train. The owner even gave me a map and summary of the sites in the city. You can tell a lot of locals come here, but it is very open to tourists.

What a great lunch! The food was home made and tasted great! The owner was serving at the tables with pride, great customer care and smiling. A wide basement corridor with tables along the way, make it cosy and intimate. It doesn’t have great decoration or style but the food is wonderful!

A wonderful little place. We went in for a late lunch, I think the menu changes very often, today the 3 dishes of the day were pork ribs, Plaice (fish) and cuts of pork in oven. We had the ribs and fish, both dishes were good, fresh and had a wonderful "home cooking" feel, with self-cut potato fries for the ribs. (great desserts too) The owner is a great guy, very attentive, friendly and loving, they immediately had a baby chair for our daughter and were smiling and waving at her throughout.
Price is great too!
All in all a very nice experience! Thank you and hope to come again!

Simple and delicious food,very attentive host/owner. My husband had the fish dish of the day,I had the roasted meat and the kids shared a steak with fries,we tried two of their desserts plus drinks and everything came up to only $ 33 euro,amazing.Also they gave us tip on things to do and where to get the best ice cream.Such a nice place and great town to visit.

Unplanned and fantastic. We wandered into Tomar without a plan for lunch. The host, Ricardo, could not have been more hospitable. Not only was the setting cozy and cool, he had a “real vegan hamburger” on the menu to meet my weird preferences. After a very nice lunch, he offered us several homemade desserts. When I asked for a banana as my dessert (bc I saw it in the display case), he gave me the banana…with an espresso. Oh, and he spoke perfect English. Very nice experience. Enjoy!

Excellent lunch for 4 for 30 euros. We had fried sardines, ribs and pork loin. Delicious, but don’t expect meat to fall off rib bone

I had a delicious vegan meal of burger, which had a nice rich flavour, spinach rice, and chips. The chips were perfect- homemade, nice and thin and crisp. Melon to finish with. Cova Funda is cute and clean and the owners are beautiful people.

Pork cheeks and chicken legs were divine and the fries/chips are the best in Tomar. Staff super friendly and attentive. Absolutely recommended. We'll be back!

Great wee find. Small but varied menu. Chicken legs were delicious and alheiras (sp?) was yummy. Try it. 😋
