A Quelha - Adega Regional

It has been a few years since we last came here. Thankfully the Quelha is still a very enjoyable experience and a traditional style menu. Today we chose the "Coelho a caçador" ( rabbit casserole ) along with a jug of the chilled Espadeiro rose young wine. Just delicious. Excellent service.
Opens for lunch and dinner 1130-1400 and 1900-2200.
The place has about 25 tables outside and inside. Parking is on the nearby streets.

Amazing food. Portuguese style. Loved it from beginning to end.

We just had one of our best meals at this local, traditional restaurant. Lightly fried hake was awesome, and grilled octopus was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. Both were super fresh, too. Service was friendly and a family affair. Look for the name on the stone above the door!

OMG We came as a group of 9 people on short notice. We received samples of all the dishes and all of them were just great. The best dinner we had all week

Sem dúvida uma referência quando regressarmos a Amarante. Local acolhedor e com decoração diferente. Prima pela comida com sabor bem caseiro. Como entradas optamos pela típica bola. Os pratos principais foram coelho guisado com legumes e pão torrado que estava bastante bom e uma alheira completa. A sobremesa passou pelo bolo de bolacha e acompanhar o vinho da casa. Uma meia dose da bastante bem para uma pessoa. O jantar não chegou aos 40€.

Tudo perfeito. A comida, o atendimento e a decoração.... Perfeito! O polvo está uma delícia, foi o que experimentamos, mas os restantes pratos tinham um aspeto muito bom. Para sobremesa, saboreamos uma rabanada que estava no ponto!

Super restaurant typique, on y mange très bien . En été la terrasse est très agréable. Je recommande !

Cocina muy tradicional y casera. La sala del comedor tiene las paredes horadadas en la propia roca de granito, de ahí el propio nombre del restaurante, manteniendo una temperatura muy confortable cuando aprieta el calor o el frío.

La palabra "Quelha" en gallego puede aplicarse para definir algo estrecho o angosto. La "Quilla do peito" es el esternón. Define también un camino hondo y estrecho.

Pratos típicos fartos, com ótima qualidade e preço bastante interessante. Boa oferta de vinhos a um custo igualmente bom (próximo até do praticado em supermercados).
O ambiente é agradável e beira o pitoresco. O atendimento é bastante “direto ao ponto”, mas nada que comprometa. Fica bem cheio em questão de minutos, então vale chegar cedo.
