Watermark Surf House

I absolutely adored my time at The Watermark Surf House. From the moment I arrived and met Rui, who warmly welcomed and introduced me to every guest, I felt at home ! The house was cozy and well equipped with everything you needed : a fully stocked kitchen, a comfortable lounge, private dorm beds with curtains as well as access to skateboards and surfboards. Plus, it's just minutes away from the beach with great restaurants/ bars. Not forgetting the fantastic surf lessons provided by Luis. It truly holds such a family atmosphere while here !

I spent an amazing week with beautiful waves and beautiful people at the Watermark Surf House.
Riccardo and Rui are wonderful hosts and the house has a very cozy atmosphere (not many rooms so I got to know the other guests really fast). The house is also located super close to the surf spot and they offer full flexibility on surf classes and rental: I had the chance to e.g. take surf classes in the morning and go for a sunset surf by myself in the evening - loved it!
Luiz is also a really good surf coach who helped me to make a lot of progress with my technique - thank you!
Esphino is a cute little village outside of Porto but offers a great range of local restaurants, bars and cafes.
Will definetely come again!

I had an amazing time at the Watermark Surf House hostel. Rui and Ricardo, the owners, were really responsive and helpful and made me feel like a friend. I recommend this place to anyone traveling solo and looking for a great place to learn how to surf. Thanks to their great surf teacher, Luis, I could learn quickly and catch my first solo wave! I hope to come again.

I was traveling alone and stayed for two weeks, had a really good time and met new people. The location is perfect and the house very clean. There is everything you need and more. The hosts are very nice and caring. The Surf Instructor is very good. Would recommend!

I stayed here with my partner and my little brother (18). It was my brother's first time in a hostel and I'm so happy it was here. We immediately felt like we were part of a surf family, Rui was an amazing host, super organised, welcoming and helpful, he organised our surf lessons with us and organised a dinner out with everyone in the hostel to a local restaurant.
The rooms are really lovely, comfy beds, nice showers and lots of space for your stuff.
Prices for rental and lessons are really decent and you can change your surfboard throughout the day if you want to try something different.
The kitchen has lots of space with designated spaces for each room/bed. It's also kept super clean (as is the rest of the hostel)
The beach is literally a block away.
The surf instructors are really sound and really good teachers, my partner had never surfed before and he stood up straight away.
I could go on :) Highly recommend and will be back one day!

Watermark Surfhouse is a really amazing place if you like surfing and a family like atmosphere! We spend one week there and Ricardo (the owner) really made us feel at home, one of the best hosts I ever experienced. Ricardo even let me check out a bit later because I was feeling sick, I really appreciated that and it shows me how much he cares about his guests.

The surf lessons and equipment were also great, Luis is a great teacher that takes his job very seriously. Luis compares surfing to driving your car while teaching and even though my girlfriend does not have a drivers licence, she still learned to surf! I wish there were car driving instructors like Luis ;)

The beach is just a short walk from the surfhouse which makes it very easy to go for a quick surfing session. The only regret I have is not booking a couple of extra days so I could participate in the intermediate classes ;)

Great place to stay for a surfing holiday in the area of Porto. Chill vibe, great teachers, and very honest prices for the dorms!
I am definitely going back if I'll find myself again in the region 😉

This has been one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. Ricardo is the most welcoming host. He has been helpful through and through, accommodating, gave guidance and feedback and tips about local spots.
Luis, our surfing instructor, is a top class professional and one of the most patient teachers I have ever met.
The surf house is lovely - it is clean, it is comfortable, it has everything you may need for the stay.
People are friendly.
Surfing is a great sport, challenging but worth every second.
I can recommend 100% to anyone who wants to learn or improve their surfing skills.
Also - I loved Espinho. It is a super nice place and it has some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.

I've stayed at Watermark twice and counting. Ricardo and Rui are amazing hosts, you are made to feel at home straight away and the house is lovely. Watermark seems to attract really cool people too, of all ages, great vibes. The location is incredible, 50m from the beach. Everything you need is within a short walk and Porto is easy on the Metro too.

There is an excellent range of boards and wetsuits too and the instructor, Luis, is the best. I learnt more in 10 minutes with him than I had in weeks elsewhere. He actually cares about making you a better surfer. He'll even manage to coach you while on the wave, Go Pro in hand, or at worst imortalise your wipe out. :))

it was the best decision to stay here! Our room was really nice and especially the owners were so kind and helpful for everything! We felt very welcome there and had a really good time. Also the surfteacher was the best I could have! The prices were also fine!

Lovely little calm place (very well equipped)by the beach, filled with love and family vibes. Surf teacher military-Luiz is the best Ive ever had, due to his confidence in me I could improve my skills a lot. Ricardo and Rui are great owners, always there to help you out and have fun times, too. Would always come again. And again. And again.

We have been in Espinho end of June / beginning of July 2022. We were looking for a surf camp in advance but we didn’t find something convincing - this place would have been exactly what we have been dreaming of! So we stayed in a Hotel and we’re looking for a surf school after arriving. We found this place and have been very warm welcomed by Rui and Ricardo even though we were not staying at this place. The surf lessons with Luis have been amazing. We will come back and next time we will also stay at this lovely, familiar place! High recommended!!

I stayed for a couple of days at Watermark Surf House and I highly recommend it! It is a wonderful location with two great hosts and amazing guests. Really laid-back atmosphere with surf vibes. It is the perfect place to stay if you want to surf in Espinho or just hang out by the beach. It is right by the beach and also not far from Porto. It offers high-quality surf classes that I can recommend to everyone. Rui also has great recommendations for tasty seafood 🙂 I can't wait to come back !!

Great Surfhouse, just one block away from the main surf spot. The owners Ricardo and Rui are super nice, welcoming and helping with everything you need.

Stayed there for 2.5 weeks and could have extended for many weeks more. Rui and Ricardo are the best hosts I have ever met and are open for any request. The accommodation gets cleaned daily and the dorms are spacious.
The surf sessions and all other events are organized very well and it is definitely the best Surf house I have ever been to.
Will definitely come back!

We spend a week at Watermark and I must say I could not be happier with everything 🤩. The hosts where the best, super helpful with everything and making sure we had the best experience possible.

And the location is just perfect, super close to the beach and the city of Eapinho is calm and cozy surf town with everything you need.

We also had the surf package. Their surf instructor is such amazing. I can highly recommend both the housing and surfing with Watermark 👌🏽🌊

I stayed at Watermark Surf House for 1 week, booked the 'surf pro package' and took a bed in the dorm. I've had an amazing time. The house is beautiful, next to the beach and has everything you need at small walk distance.
The hospitality of Rui (1 of the owners of the house) is wonderful, he checks all the time with you if you're okay or need something. And besides he's a great person to talk, surf, drink coffee, have lunch, and laugh with.
The surf lessons of Luis are awesome. In Watermark they teach in small groups of only a few persons, so that Luis has the chance to really look at you and give feedback. Almost everyday they took foto's and short video's of the surfing so that you can progress a lot. I learned so many things I can work on in my surfing.

I was traveling alone through Europe and the Surfhouse was a perfect break from traveling. The team are wonderful, very supportive and helpful. Overall I had a REALLY lovely time!

Amazing compact clean and comfortable surfhouse only 20 minutes away from downtown Porto! 2 minutes away on foot from train station, 30 seconds away from the beach. You can literally surf in the morning and do all the sightseeing in Porto for the rest of the day or vice versa. It’s in quiet location yet everything you need is within easy reach. Their surfing lesson will definitely level you up, so please don’t miss it. Kind and flexible hosts will do their best for your comfort. I miss spending my time surfing and cooking in their bright kitchen with all the awesome guests and can’t wait to go back.
