Convento de Santa Cruz do Buçaco

The Convento de Santa Cruz do Buçaco in Portugal is a special place!

It's an old monastery, built back in 1628, right in the heart of a protected forest, called Mata Nacional do Buçaco. The surrounding woods are so lush and green - it feels like stepping into a peaceful, hidden world.

The place is full of history and I could feel the calm of the monks who once lived here. I really enjoyed exploring it, especially knowing that it's a blend of both old history and beautiful nature!

Very Interesting museum, with a low entrance fee of 2 euros, they actually have a lot to offer. You can see old paintings, and hand painted tiles all over, with ceillings doors and windows cladded with natural cork. Inside there is a church and we can climb some spiral stairs all the way up to see the big brass bells dated from the 1850 or so.

Most amazing gem in nature. The most serene, with rare natural beauty, because of height great seabreeze and even good cuisine!

This convent has a very unique look and has beautiful surroundings. Definitely recommend to stop by and snap a few photos.

Amazing hotel - okay, the rooms need a refurb. But I had a downtown Abbey style bath, in a n are deco room, in a fabulous relic of a hotel. Go and enjoy.

You need about an hour minimum to feel the atmosphere of relax and calm in the gardens around this beatiful castle
