Quinta Nova Nossa Senhora do Carmo

I came here with two German friends of mine. We arrived way beyond lunch time but were offered to stay anyway and the chef did an amazing job. We received great attention, in-depth explanations and amazing food/wines.
Price wise it's a bit on a premium side however worth every penny. Wines were spectacular as well as the food.
The location is just something else, especially if you are lucky with the weather.
Unfortunately we didn't plan to stay there overnight but maybe next time.

We came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We chose the 3 course menu and wine tasting x 4. Everything was amazing, from the wine, food, and service. Our host/ waiters / waitress were so friendly, knowledgeable, and great about the wine and food! She knew so much about the wine and was so lovely! Highly recommend and would go back with friends and family again. It would be great to stay overnight next time. We read mixed reviews about the food and price but we don't think the food was overpriced for what you got, it was well priced, the food was very tasty and the atmosphere was relaxed. Definitely a must visit for views, food, and service.

Our daughter gifted us two days here and so we went and loved it! The wine was good too! I only wish I brought a Bathing suit as they had a very nice pool.

A really pleasant experience. Dinner (since you basically need to get it due to location) was well crafted and tasty. Wine on the terrace was extremely relaxing and a great way to wind down the afternoon. I probably wouldn't want to spend more than one night here, but the one night was great.

I did a pick-up to do a walking tour with people staying at Quinta Nova. It's an amazing place!

Absolutely stunning place. It's fairly isolated without a car, but there's enough to do at the resort between wine tasting, the restaurant, and just soaking up the jaw-dropping scenery. (Call ahead for pickup from the train station... we tried walking because it's just over 2 kilometera but the heat and elevation gain is no joke with luggage!) Attentive and friendly staff. A highlight of our honeymoon was just gazing out over the Douro from the hotel pool. One of the fancy places that's genuinely worth the money.

Beautiful hotel with only 11 rooms. Perfect place to relax a couple of days. It's very secluded so I suggest you plan having diner at their restaurant. The pool area and dining area have great views over the Douro Valley. Service was worthy of the Relais & Chateaux title. Can't go wrong staying here!

Place is gorgeous, tour was great! Tasting was on the pricier side though

Under the leadership of hotel manager Mr. Jorge Eiras, Quinta Nova showed us the most friendly customer service which I could imagined! Together with the beauty of Douro Valley and excellent vineyard selection of wines, Quinta Nova is a must visit gem in Europe

What a wonderful relaxing location. Amazing staff always friendly and helpful, restaurant is great and rooms are spacious.

I would agree with the assessment that their wine tastings are a little pricey. But we also purchased some bottles and they waived the cost for the tastings we had before... so can‘t complain. Setting is absolutely gorgeous, staff is extremly friendly.

What a lovely day of wine! The tour and tasting was great, but the lunch was the best part. We had a delicious multi course meal with wine pairings in a really beautiful room. Staff was really friendly. Beautiful views from the grounds.

Thia place is AMAZING! the view is fantastic, the wine was great!

We did the wine tour and tasting with Sofia, she explained us with great knowledge and passion about the process of making wine and the history of the place.

They have a luxury hotel, we didn't stayed but would definitely will come back to experience that.
They also have a shef restaurant, usually you need to reschedule your visit there, but they agreed to have us and the food was the best food we eat at our trip.

It a good price for the value you get.

We had an AMAZING stay at the Quinta Nova hotel! Clean and comfortable rooms that look over the incredible Douro Valley. We would 100% stay again. The restaurant and chef were remarkable with a tasty 5-star meal. Our server Ruben Lima was extremely knowledgeable, caring and provide exceptional service for our meal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel to everyone!

We stayed at the Quinta for just one night but it was a wonderful experience. Location, attitude and friendlines of the staff, quality of the rooms with attention to detail - perfect. And then the restaurant - food quality, food presentation, knoweledge of the servers - also to a very high standard. Overall a fantastic stay and very much recommended.

Rustic Luxury overlooking the Douro Valley! In this case, by “rustic” I mean comfortable, relaxing, un-stuffy, and quiet. White tablecloth service at every meal is pretty (Portuguese ceramics), not pretentious. The people here are very welcoming, the service, food, and wine are excellent. You can choose to add one of several wine pairings to lunch or dinner. Delicious breakfast served with outstanding attention to details: the scrambled eggs are not cooked until the first guest come in to breakfast, and there is a choice of making your own espresso or getting ready-made coffee. Rooms are very comfortable (and our “twin” beds were more like full size), quiet, and beautiful. A nice touch in our bathroom (terrace level) was a slate floor in the bathroom – non-skid and not as cold as marble. There is a living room where guests can relax, read, and even have snacks, as well as the delicious Quinta Nova wine. The covered terrace, complete with chairs and tables, overlooks the valley, and there is a spa and pool. Parking is on-site. We would have loved to stay longer.

Great Location in the Douro Valley and a must visit. Moved from Port to Wine, with a superb range of wines to taste. The restaurant attached serves delicious food accompanied by the wines you have sampled. A lovely day out.

This place is simply amazing. Stunning views with an infinity pool and by far the best quinta of the Douro region. The 3 menu lunch was beyond expectations, soo good, soo fresh, high class, pairing of most suitable wines with each dish. You will enjoy highly creative dishes with an impressive landscape scenery.
