Panificadora Central de Matosinhos

We wanted to check out this bakery cafe when we were in the neighborhood. It was late in the day, so we weren't sure there'd be any tasty nibbles left, but we thought we'd give it a try.

Very friendly service and with gestures, we were able to communicate and choose two tasty treats.

We lucked out with two FANTASTIC pastries. I don't know the name for either, but they were both so light, fresh, flavorful and the perfect snack.

The two of them only cost 1,60€. If you're anywhere near this cafe, right across from the Mercado, you should definitely check it out. Everything looked very good. Highly recommend.

5 stars without hesitations. We took there our breakfast. Staff are lovely. The service is quick, the place is calm, with local customers (not touristic prices). We also had fresh orange juice. Everything is home made and our breakfast was delicious.

We tried two different types of cookies and egg tarts. The egg tarts taste really home made with lots of eggs. Their sweets taste amazing and the shop has many tables. They served coffee very fast. The staff were really friendly and kind :) I highly recommend visiting this place.

If you are looking for a simple nice coffee and a delicious home made Portugal pastries with local prices (not turtist trap), let me tell you that this is your place!

Old fashioned style coffee shop, local family and home made pastries... I don't have much to say but that this is simply perfect for a relaxed time and enjoy your sweet.

If you are looking for a fancy place, please do not come and waste your time.

Really good pastry, the coffee was good and the ladies there really nice and helpful. Loved it!
Also: really good prices. Our breakfast was 6.9€

5 stars if you're going for the full local Portuguese experience. 2023 FEB: other visitors were mainly iconic (and elderly) locals. I bought a loaf of bread there and drank a coffee with milk, no sugar, while reading a chapter of Yuval Harrari's book, in which it is described how the state overtook the importance of a local family. :) Pair this with visiting Matosinhos' indoor market. Still reading this?! Go out there into the real world! Discover businesses and sip some coffee.

Great service, loads of people to help. Had outside seating. Might not be the best quality but the price is absolutely the very best. This Americana sandwich was only €2.50!!!

Nous avons adoré . En face du marché. 2 cafés allongés 3 pâtisseries et deux boule de pain pour 5,90.
Rien à redire

Niepozorne miejsce, ale ze świetną atmosferą, czuć lokalny klimat. Bardzo przyjazne ceny, odgórny wybór ciast, śniadań i przekąsek.

Знали только цену на кофе - 70 центов
Заплатили за 2 кофе и 2 булочки 3 евро
Видели как местные ели домашнюю еду.
Порции были большие
