Great walk out there. Where I am staying is about 40 min walk so I went on foot. I wandered through nearby towns, then through what appears to have been an industrial farm to the Roman ruins. The road is blocked with an electrical wire but that’s to keep the cattle in. The Roman ruins are mostly fenced in but accessible. In the center is a hexagon wall with 5 buildings & door entrances, with the sixth appearing to have a ramp, wall or stairs leading toward the marsh. This cluster was interesting because it was distinctively different than the layout of the rest of the villa. It was quiet and peaceful, I imagined the people living here, farming, fishing, raising animals. I wonder if the some of terraces were made back then to help with farming. You can find a Wikipedia article on the site. The mosaics are in a museum now but the articles include photos of where they were. The land is amazing, it’s obvious that it has had times where it was quite productive. Take some time to wander around the rest of the property too.

a bit hard to drive to. but well worth a visit. the romans certainly knew where to put their villas. what a view. a must to visit. Its a shame people think its robbers that have taken the mozaics. It was the musium of lisbon and Portimão that have them. And they allow all the cows to roam all over it

A little rough to get through depending on route. Very dry hard packed trail. Also this is in amongst an old cattle farm ruin.

Podia estar melhor preservado.

Hard to get to. Farm is private land and not fully abandoned. Site is fenced off though quite visible.

Nothing to see if you're not an archeologist with a permission to dig 😂 Don't know if anyone visited this place in 20 years. Wild interesting surroundings like a ruined farm, a heard of cows and bulls as well as large colonies of crabs.
