Halfway Cafe & Bar

Absolutely lovely, in particular enjoyed the self-made scones. The owner immediately addresses you with sweetheart and makes you feel at home. Well located next to the old gate if Silves.

Amazing little cafe/bar in Silves with lovely and welcoming owners (Kevin & Lucie)! Lucie is a brilliant cook/baker and all of the food is made fresh - they even have themed weeks! So I definitely recommend checking them out on Instagram to find out what they have going on @halfwaycafebar ! Prices are incredibly reasonable!

Went here for the first time today whilst on holiday in Portugal. Absolutely loved it. Service was exceptional and chatted to a lovely lady who made us feel so welcome. I had a lovely salad with feta and it was the best salad I had tasted and all freshly made. Hubby had a lovely tuna sandwich. So worth the wait for the food. If you're ever visiting Silves please visit this cafe as you won't be disappointed.

Lovely experience at this very quirky and unique little café, run by a wonderfully bright and super friendly couple, where we stayed much longer than originally intended as we were having such a great time in their company! Very welcoming hosts, delicious homemade and very affordable lunch, and a most unusual setting: right on the inside of the city wall! Definitely worth a stop by, on your way up to or down from the castle and church at the top of the hill. Don't forget to ask for anecdotes, advice and tips for visiting the city! Thank you, both!!

Lovely little café bar, spotlessly clean and very friendly and helpful owner. Toasted sandwich was delicious as are the homemade cakes. Cream tea with home made clotted cream is excellent. Very reasonably priced, offering great value. Situated in a quiet area of town and well worth a visit when in Silves. Lucie, keep up the great work 😀

Great Ambiance and located on a perfect spot to observe the people passing by… Sometimes you’ll be surprised of finding new spots… Definitely worth coming back but then to have a nice lunch instead of only a good beer. Greets From Holland…

A 'must visit' venue - superb home made food, great nibbles and wonderful drinks served with genuine attention to detail with exemplary customer service. It really is an oasis in a great location - totally recommended

Currently enjoying a delicious toasted cheese and ham toasted sandwich outside in the shade of this lovely friendly cafe halfway up towards the castle. Veg and feta salad very tasty also. All food prepared freshly and served with a smile.

Found this little cafe whilst walking around Silves. What a find ! Friendly greeting from Kevin who found us a lovely table in the shade . His wife Lucy is the chef & she cooks from the heart. Lovely food lovely service whole heartedly recommend.

Great coffee, delicious cake, very nice atmosphere and above all - amazing owners! And moreover, they were having Formula 1 on the TV, which makes it absolutely perfect!

I do like this place, Lucy is very friendly and acomadating, The drinks are good but expensive. A glass of wine is 3 times the price of other places in town. It's on the tourist trail.

I live in Silves and this gem of a bar is now a firm favourite. Kevin and Lucie are lovely welcoming people. Bar has a small courtyard up against the old city walls. Lucie cooks with passion and the snacks are magnificent. Good range of beers, including my favourite Estrella Galicia. Kevin will put on Sky or BT sport inside on request. And they are dog friendly.

Nice local bar. Lucy is the best host. We came back to Silves just to visit her again.
