Café Ervilha

It was October when we were there, so not much tables outside, but we were sitting cross the road and enjoying their cakes. It was really tasty and homemade. Definitely to recommend.

What a setting on the town square, bathed in sunlight, have a coffee a pastry or an afternoon drink amongst a wonderful gathering of locals and travellers.

Might seem a normal-looking place, but actually this place hides the best pastry of all the places I have been in Portugal from Porto to Faro, fancy places of Lisbona included. If you are there and you like food. Stop there!

Great location on the square, very good for people watching. One of the best Frango de Imparda's (chicken pies) that I have had. Happy helpful staff and generally ideal for a snack, with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.
Second shop over the road, part of this bar, also has excellent ice cream.

Enjoyed this delightful cafe/bar while staying in the town for 5 nights at the Estalagem Sequiera Alportel Hotel. Every evening we sat under their umbrellas for Happy Hour and people watching before dinner! Such a great location and the pastries, both sweet and savory, made fresh insight by a great chef, all DELICIOUS!! You will be very happy to visit and hang out here!!

Excellent location on the square. Brilliant for watching the world go by. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent chicken pie. Ideal location for light lunch, coffee and cake, freshly squeezed orange juice or homemade ice cream.
