Parroquia Catedral San Juan Bautista - Misiones

Hermosa arquitectura presenta esta Iglesia en la ciudad de San Juan Bautista, cuando fui estaba abierta (algo no muy común en las iglesias del Paraguay, ya que solo se abren para realizar misas o actividades exclusivas). El interior del mismo muy lindo, es un lugar de paz.

Lindo lugar, hermoso el templo y sus vitrales. Gente muy amable y hospitalaria.

Rodeada de una exuberante naturaleza, la Catedral es un apacible y bello lugar de recogimiento espiritual.

Hermosa Casa de Dios..

The cathedral of San Juan Bautista is a splendid though unelaborate building in cream and beige, with a slightly Moorish aspect to the top of the octogonal tower. On the left as you enter is a carved wooded niche from the time of the Jesuit Reductions, with a vine motif up its spiralling columns. The main doors to the cathedral were carved by a local carpenter on the theme of the Lamb of God. Behing the altar to one side is a striking stained-glass window of the baptism of Christ, running from floor to ceiling. The statue of St. John the Baptist, which is carried in procession through the streets on the night of 24th June, is a charming old piece, with the Lamb of God at the feet of the saint. To the right of the altar is the tomb of Monseñor Bogarín, with an enourmous painting behind it, portraying the history of the Misiones Department diocese, founded in 1957.
