Get there early because it's a long hike to the top waterfall. You'll need at least 4 hours and the park closes at 4pm. There's a nice campsite just before the entrance to the national park where you can chill at the river and have lunch.

Good place for picknic and trekking with friends and family.
This is one of the beautiful national parks in Surat Thani province which can reach there by your own vehicle, car or motocycle. The scenery along the way is very beautiful. The visitor need to buy the ticket at the check point. If you want to know more information please contact the staffs at the visitor center. Clean restroom and free parking are provided. Please bring your food and drink if you want to stay throughout the day.

Beautiful park. The staff was just amazing and they took us to the last waterfall. It was a bit of a climb and pretty slippery but they were kind enough to stop for us and wait for us to catch up. It is a roughly 3 hours track to go and come back. You better be prepared to cross some streams of the waterfall. There are very few bridges and be sure to wear full length pants as there are leeches in the water :P and if you are visiting in a rainy season then take a pair of extra clothes with you and plastic bags for safety of your equipment like cell phone or camera.

A hidden gem. Nothing near the level of development as Khao Yai, just a visitor's center and a carpark. But very quiet, and beautiful sights within a few minutes walk. Most local Thais have not even heard of this place, despite being so close to Surat. Probably because it used to be a communist stronghold in the 70s and was therefore a no go zone. The road getting there is a little dodgy but not too bad. The hike to the top level of the waterfall chain is apparently 2-3 days.. But there are pleasant easier walks part of the way there. As with all such places – watch out for leeches. Take leech socks and use mosquito repellant to keep them at bay.

The area, especially around the hill, Khao Chong Chang, was a stronghold of communist rebels in the 1980s. From here they succeeded in killing Princess Vibhavadi Rangsit in 1977 as well as the vice-governor of Surat Thani.[1] When the rebellion ceased in the early–1990s due to an amnesty program called Tai Romyen (literally, "cool shade in the south") and it was again safe to visit the area, the national park was established. The park was then named after the amnesty program.

Attractions in the park are the two waterfalls Muang Thuat and Than Thip, as well as the Khamin Cave. Also two former camps of the communist party can be visited, named Camp 180 and Camp 357

Exceptional wildlife park set deep in the forest. The waterfall has 8 levels that are not easily found, but all are fun and worth trying to figure out how to get to each one. There is a very large cave at this national park, called Kumin Cave if I'm not mistaken. There are guides that will take you deep inside the cave. You can take photos of the natural limestone formations, bats, spiders, and maybe if you're lucky - the Ridley's Racer snake. This hike in the cave and at the waterfall are very safe, and you should do both. If you are coming to Krabi, don't miss the Huay Toh Waterfall, Crystal Pond, and Wat Tum Sua Buddhist temple. Cheers!
