Old amphitheater at El Jem

This is the other amphitheatre of El Jem. The conservation is really bad and it is almost totally destroyed. However, it is free to visit and very close to the centre, so it can be worth checking it out.

It is so interesting that in a not so big town to have 2 amphiteatre. This one is in a bad condition, the locals are using as a trash dump. Nearby is the Museum of El Djem with beautiful and unique mosaics.

Most of the reviews posted are from the coliseum nearby, this is just remains. It's not that difficult to use Google..

Magnificent historical Roman monument

Grandiose.

Good stuff but people are dumping trash in the center.

This old amphitheatre a stones throw away from the El Jem museum, has been and is been neglected. The site has been left and only thing to see are the local feral goats eating the shrubbery. Its not worth making a special journey to see it but if your in the area (visiting the much larger amphitheatre and museum) then pop by, but dont expect much.
