My friends and I had a great time visiting Bagamoyo. A huge thank you goes to our very informative and helpful guide Omary, who took us around all the historical sites around Bagamoyo as well as the Kaole Ruins! Amazing work!

German Old Fort has always been a good and memorable historical place in bagamoyo. I like going and going to get and learn more history about it. It's well preserved. It's affordable as non-resident pays $10, resident pays $5 and local citizens pays like $1. They have a good guides who tells a good history about it. Last time, the guide was Casthebert he is so knowledgeable and knows alot of stuffs and know how to tell to his clients

I propose all tourists and local people to come and enjoy to see and learn the place and issues of our uncestors how they leaved their lives and how colonial error mistreated our forefathers

Striking little museum dedicated to the slave trade and slavery in general within the Tanzanian history. You will be offered the services of a guide as you enter. Please accept, his presence makes a difference (you'll need to tip him at the end of your visit, around 10.000 TZH (4 US dollars) will help him put food on his table.
Recommend it. The past can sometimes be truly shameful and brutal, we all need to face that as part of our school of life.
