Great little hidden spot, not a long trail but it's a wonderful place to immerse in the peace of nature

I read about this place in a book. Oddly enough it was a book on Haunted Lafayette. The story was called bad day at Black Rock. Supposedly a reporter talked to a Ghost in a Cave at Black Rock. I had been curious about this place since. We visited right after we tried to find Granville. Beautiful Rock formations

Beautiful place for a hike into experience quiet and serenity! Gravel path going to what I think is the parking lot. Trails are not the best and kind of muddy. be prepared for all types of uphill and downhill with varying soil conditions. Overall, it's just a nice getaway.

Small but scenic preserve, sandstone bluffs with erosion formations and small caves, overlooking the Wabash River. Very small trailhead parking, fits 2 or 3 cars.

Very small preserve with some very unique rock formations just above the edges of the Wabash river. There's 3 very small cave like holes in the rock wall. Definitely should check it out!

Short little walk, can be difficult if you cant handle steep inclines or gravel. Beautiful views and sounds of nature. Usually always one other person here. Animal friendly. Cliff views are amazing and unique. Absolutely recommend.

Rugged, though there was this one person there who might have been homeless, but they were chill so it didn't impact me much.

A more adventurous trail with some climbing areas. The trails are not well maintained and require some experience to navigate. However you can see some larger rock formations within a very short trail. In summer beware of mosquitoes

This place is awesome. It is beautiful, has lots of good moss, awesome cliffs with small caves, a great view of the river, and is out of the way enough to not be too crowded.

Black Rock is very small, but scenic, preserve. It has a nice view of the Wabash River, and there is even a tiny cave to explore. Make sure to check out the amazing history of Black Rock as well.

If you have a chance to get away from the city to see this magnificent and unique example of a natural Indiana landscape, definitely take it. We all owe a great debt of gratitude to the folks working, volunteering, and fundraising at NICHES so we can continue to have little pockets of REAL nature like this spot. Lastly, LOL at the 1-star and 3-star reviews on here. What did you subtract stars for, not having a waterfall? Silly. But I digress. If you're still reading, trust me, this is an awesome place to spend a little time in some Hoosier habitat.

Black Rock is a small, scenic, preserve. View the Wabash river from high above and as an added bonus enjoy a tiny cave.
