Wow.. really good crab cakes and cocktail shrimp. Easily the best cocktail shrimp I have ever had, which is weird. You would think they all taste the same, but these really stood out. They were succulent and sweet. We got the Smith Island crab cakes. Everyone loved everything. The coleslaw was really good, too. Don’t forget to get some tartar sauce for the crab cakes.

Best shrimp salad ever. Barely could stop eating it before I remembered to take a picture. Must go.

I recently did a gathering with Capt Chucky’s doing my main courses. The food was met with rave reviews and Antoinette and Jojo were second to none in helping me plan the menu, preparing it and having it ready in a timely fashion.
Avalon is fortunate to have this lovely little gem!

Wow. Let's start with the in house staff... amazing. So friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to welcome customers. Even giving out samples of their delicious food.

The food was soooooo good. We had the basic crab cake.... it was just crab meat. Seasoned well, it was perfect and a great price. Don't be put off with having to bake the crab cakes, it was a was simple and the directions they give are perfect.

We also tried the coleslaw and broccoli salad. Both tasty.

But the best thing we had was the shrimp. Melt in your mouth meaty shrimp. I wish I would have gotten the bigger serving.

This place is definitely on our must visit list.

Love the Captain Chucky’s Crab Cakes and the service by Courtney was above and beyond. She was so cheerful and helpful with choosing the right type of appetizers too! The choices of prepared dishes were perfect for our family house dinner!

Ordered for the first time last week and was very impressed overall. Brittany was super friendly and helpful on the phone while I was ordering. We picked up the order on Saturday and the staff was extremely friendly and inviting as well, making it a great experience. The crab critter balls were a hit at our party and the shrimp cocktail was delicious! Will definitely be back again soon.

I was visiting friends in Avalon and wanted to provide a dinner to thank them for their hospitality. Capt Chucky's was recommended. I am not a seafood connoisseur, so I was in need of help. A young lady from behind the counter, Isabelle, was kind, friendly and eager to help me chose the perfect dinner for our hosts. Five stars for great customer service !!!

Gluten free crab cakes are the best! They are frozen when purchased but if you call ahead they'll get them defrosted for you. Always super nice staff, so glad I found this place!!!

The best crab cakes and shrimp cakes! We picked up a few different options and took them home to cook in the oven. Don’t miss the sauces too—I loved their tartar sauce. A perfect no-fuss dinner to make at a rental house.

Everything is really delicious. We make it a point to get here and stock up on crab cakes, shrimp cakes, soups, and ready to eat shrimp. The crew is always very nice and very helpful. They have the best crab cakes around. And we are crab cake snobs !

Just tried the shrimp salad, best ever anywhere.
Crab cakes delicious. Sometimes I order crab cakes in seafood restaurants and can’t find the crab.
Haven’t tried everything yet but hope to by summer’s end.
Highly recommend.very friendly service also.

Capt'n Chucky saved the day. Day after Labor Day, shops close. Crab cakes were on my dinner menu and Back Bay only opens on extended weekends. Our new favorite place, CAPT'N CHUCKY!! Marvelous colossal crab cakes. The owners could not have been any more helpful. Just delightful. Thank you. You were the rainbow at the end of my day. So glad I found you.

Crab Cakes are delicious. The young lady (Isabel) who helped me recommended the broccoli salad and my family loved it.

Captn Chucky’s Avalon is our families go to place for quick, delicious and healthy meals in the summer time! We also love to pick up appetizers like their soups, ready to go peeled and deveined shrimp and the Dom Rolls for impressing guests. The store is family owned and operated so you know you are getting great service and quality food.

Staff (college girls working the summer - one is going to Pitt I remember) are super friendly and very knowledgeable. Food is fantastic. Crab cakes and shrimp are fantastic. Great place.

Customer service was great from the minute I walked in the door to the moment I left. Isabel recommended the shrimp salad which was a huge hit. It was my first visit and I will be back.
